*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Hmm here's a question; if I quick save then kill someone to get an achievement, then reload and don't kill, I can continue for Pacifist? Or does it track them seperately.
Yeah should be fine to reload and go.

Reminds me of a funny moment after receiving the quest from that woman in the Hung Hua hotel. Held what I thought was "W" (which turned out to be "E" which I'd bound to takedowns) to run forward after ending the dialogue only to accidently impale her through the chest with Jensen's arm blades.

Only have gas grenades and mine templates + typhoon aug.

Managed to kill her using just the typhoon aug.

Ok so I just completed the game...Very good. Prob an avergae off 1-3 hrs 5 days a week for 4 weeks. Officialy 44 hours but 50% of that was spent afk or just farting about, eatign food etc....

however is it just me or is this gmae like 1/5 the size of Deus Ex 1. Also much much easier. I can recall getting stuck or frustated at no poin in the game. I recall in Deus ex 1 many times getting hard areas and being scared to go out when ther was robots etc..I never got this troble in this game.

It took me more than 6 months to complete Deus ex.

That being said I was hooked online without playing SP much for months. Then I got bored after hong kong so stopped playing.

However I recall the game being much much larger and longer.

Was it or just my imagination?

Yes it is a very very easy game. The only tough bits that might realistically be classed as difficult are the boss fights. It is possible to extract further difficulty depending on your style of play (i.e. setting off no alarms is quite tricky).

They're about the same length I think for an 'average' play. Deus Ex has a bit more in it that could keep you interested if you want it to (more books, computer stuff I think)

I got 34 hours out of HR according to Steam, which is damn good.

maybe it was just it only took me 3-4 weeks kinda dilay playing to complete Deus ex HR

whereas Deus ex 1 took me like 6-12 months. Mayeb thats why i thought it was bigger game. but off course as I say I went for months without touching single player. After I got to hong kong i got bored with all the sci-fi mumbo jumbo and started to only play online.

Also there was some bits in dues ex I found hard much harder than DEus ex HR. I recall some points dieng a lot in desu ex but not desu ex hr.

Completed this earlier today and overall I've been very pleased! Really enjoyed it and it was a decent length too! A very worth installment in the Deus Ex series. The augmentations really made things just that bit more interesting.

I couldn't say how long it has taken me as the 59 hours which Steam reports includes times where Ive just left the game on while I've been out/going other things.

Maybe spoilers:

I would have liked it to be a little more challenging towards the end and I found the bosses pretty easy (especially the final one). I don't think I would even consider it/her a boss. The final level was too easy in general imo. The enemies were just too... dumb!

The part I found the most challenging was after the crash landing in Shanghai where you could try to save Malik. Took quite a few attempts!

On the whole, very enjoyable! :D

Unless you're trying to remain undetected combat is pretty easy really. The Malik bit depends on your loadout. With a laser sighted sniper rifle I just no-scoped enemies from the starting position and moved out to get the robot and the others I couldn't reach.

It is interesting trying to use the Shotgun though. I've been using the PEPS on occasion and trying to use all the grenades to my advantage (instead of ignoring them except during boss batles) and beginning fights with a takedown/double takedown if possible mainly to conserve ammo. Its very different to popping out while cloaked and 1 shotting an enemy in the head with a silenced 9mm.

Yeah, the trouble I was having at the Malik part was that I was equipped with completely the wrong things. I was even considering going back quite a way in the game just to ensure that I was better equipped. I think I had 2 energy but no energy bar things to top it up.

It was so frustrating when I was pressing Q for nothing to happen. Then realising that I had no energy.

I did find it easy when I did finally get the silenced 10mm pistol to just take people out by popping out of cover for a split second.

the challenge is there if you chose it, ie only going non-lethal , sounds like you went all guns in and i can see why you thought it was easy.

non-lethal its pretty much imposs to save malik unless your on easy (and even then its tough) you literally have to let her die unfortunately.

the bosses are also harder as your not tooled up at all.

I am going to start my 2nd playthrough soon, playing stealthy(tbh the only way i will ever play it) and i will probably go for the no alarms/kills achievements.

Has there been a mod which gives you unlimited takedowns yet? because it really doesn't make any sense, i know they didn't want to make it overpowered, but it is poor tbh and probably the only thing i didn't like about the game. I could understand if there was some other kind of mele, but there isn't

so this game is easier if you use guns/ammo all the time? It was easy enough stealthy

I played like stealthy with kills only when needed. And never much weapons or ammo barre stung gun and tranq darts until end

I just finished this, very enjoyable.

I was playing through sneaky and not killing anyone.

Just looking online I found out I missed a side mission annoying that!

I wouldn't say so, I tried to be mostly stealthy. I just hacked a couple of terminals to turn the robots/turrets on my side. At one point I got a ton of them to run after me, then dropped a gas grenade and watched them all die, that was pretty fun :D

I have seen a video of how to do the Malik part non lethal. The guy used the tranq gun mainly with some stunning.

theres a big difference between stealth and non-lethal.
and that video thats doing the rounds is on easy and the time to save her is doubled.
