*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Got the game few days ago very impressive so fare, is there any place where I can store my items? the sniper rifle and shotgun takes up takes up way to many slots at the start of the game.

Just finished the game in 21 hours according to Steam, longest single player game I've played in a long time and could have been much longer!

Loved the whole experiance, one or two minor flaws but all in all a brilliant game.

There must be a lot more to the game than that. Im at 19 hours and am just over half way.

Sorry for the silly question, but i don´t know how to start the dlc mission. Steam says i have dlc content available, but it didn´t download anything after the purchase.

its part of the main game playthrough, its just a sewer section. youl know when you get to it.

There must be a lot more to the game than that. Im at 19 hours and am just over half way.

the game gets a lot linear as you progress, the last mission is essentially doom (even for non-lethal players) asides from a find the hostages bit in the middle

Without asking for any spoilers and without wading back through all the pages, has anyone else had problems with the game locking up during the third (last?) boss fight. Even on "Easy" level it's a tough one with a hard as nails opponent, who doesn't go down even after unloading just about everything in the inventory. However each and every time (about six altogether) I restarted the level last night, a short way in the battle the game froze and needed to be closed via Task Manager.

As Steam is running in online mode, I'm assuming I have the latest patches.

Decided to give this another go and I'm liking it some more now. It's funny how you can go back to something after a few weeks and see it a bit differently. I really love the atmosphere around the Detroit area, it looks great, but just a shame about those cut scene graphics.

I've found some really bad bugs in the AI though. For example, when I went in to the police station to do that part of the quest I ended up shooting the place up because I got bored sneaking around. In the end all the cops were dead and alarms were going off everywhere so I couldn't leave via the front door, without starting a shoot out that it didn't seem likely I would win, so I went back out through the roof and then the sewer just as I'd got in. All good so far. Well, that was until about an hour later when I realised that I had missed a bit of a side quest while in there and had to go back. Out of curiosity I walked near the station and nobody noticed, so I walked a bit closer and still no reaction. In the end I just walked in through the front door only to find the place still in the same state I left it in! Bizarre. Not only that but trying to leave through the front and suddenly they all recognised me again!

Still, reasonably enjoyable and I suppose I want to get something for what I've paid for seen as it's impossible to sell it on.

Ignore 3148 above, now managed to get past it and finish the game.

Not bad in the end, but kind of stick with my 3 star opinion of it as the boss levels forced me to play on Easy level to see the endgame.

Replay value? Maybe in a few months, certainly not as immediate as finishing Mass Effect 2 or Fallout 3/NV and wanting to dive straight back in.

Just finished the game at 29 hours doing all the side missions I came across. Tried to find alternate routes for each quest destination, but I guess some were unacceptable early on due to my praxis choices.

I started the game with a mix of kill and stealth with lethal take-downs, but changed to a stealth only route hacking my way through everything I came across. I'd recommend starting one way and sticking with it making a replay more enjoyable with a different style. Now I'm a position of wanting to replay it, but go all guns blazing or go for the achievement of no kills. I want both, but don't have the time for both.

An excellent game and welcome return for Deus Ex. I enjoyed every minute of the game. There are some AI issues but never distracted from my enjoyment. The graphics looked superb with the exception of the out of place cut scenes that occasional kick in. I'd read about the boss fights so my expectations were low. They were challenging and I did refer to a youtube guide for one of them.

Something about these epic games where I just sit and watch the credits roll and roll thinking about how awesome the game was with no desire to click anything till the very end. Don't try this with Crysis. I was waiting for 30 mins before I realised they repeat themselves :)

hmm. What to do now. Will wait for some additional DLC to arrive before replaying so onto something else. I've got Witcher 2, Fallout New Vegas and Mass Effect 2 to play but I've just heard that Alpha Protocol is similar to Deus Ex so might try that.

Had a play with the pc version and i found dxhr very boring indeed.

Completed the game yesterday the first 2-3 hours was fun then the game just got boring for me and predictive, this has nothing over the first Deus ex

Anyone know why the game crashes for Nvidia GTX 5xx series cards? I googled it and it seems I'm not alone. Using the Nvidia 285.38 drivers it crashes every few minutes in the game. All I get is the .exe is not responding in task manager. :(

Didn't realize the dlc was out tomorrow, i might give it another playthrough when i finish Rage. Although i am thinking of leaving it for ages until all of the dlc has been released an then i will play it through then.

ordered stuff from OC website and they sent me 2 copys of this game, really!!
what im i going to do with 2 copys of it ??

Sell one? A lot of people have been doing that on the member's market. At any rate, if you bought two qualifying products they were obliged to give you two.

Just completed this, my views:

+More Deus Ex :D
+Acceptable storyline
+Some very good effects during the riots
+Sense of humour to lighten the mood when reading emails etc
+Reasonable variety of situations in terms of choosing what augs to use, I made use of hacking, jumping, persuasian, EMP protection, Typhoon, Wall Punch etc in various places
+Nice to learn a few snippets of background about some of the characters from Deus Ex
+Excellent performance, 90+ fps
+No idea why people are complaining about load times they were only a few seconds, often I didn't even have time to read the text on the intermission screen

-Seems to be far too many things to hack, making the minigame get very boring after a while (I maxed out hacking very early on as I wanted to break into all the Sarif Industries offices)
-Game ends rather abruptly, I was expecting at least another location
-Nightclub sucks compared to those in the first two games
-Doesn't throw enough missions at you, I can't remember ever having more than 2 sidemissions active at once
-Inventory management gets annoying after a while, especially when it comes to picking up ammo for a weapon that isn't fully loaded - you have to drop something else, pick up the ammo, load it into the gun, and then pickup the item you dropped.
-Graphically not that impressive, it's all a bit 2008
-No melee attack without energy cells kinda sucks, was really annoying on one side mission where you can't use force, had to take out about 6 bodyguards one by one then run away and hide while my energy recharged.
-AI doesn't follow you enough e.g. if you come round a corner guns blazing then retreat they should know which way you went rather than randomly looking around the place

As for the boss fights not sure what all the fuss is about, 3rd boss is supposed to be the hardest but it was the easiest for me, I just shot him 4 times with the grenade launcher and he died having barely moved from his starting position, all over in about 10 seconds. I guess if your character is heavily dependent on augs it might be tricky but as long as you have a powerful weapon it shouldn't be too difficult. Same goes for the first two bosses in fact, Boss1 I just threw out those remote explosive devices and blew him up, second boss I blazed away with Heavy Rifle before finishing her off with a couple of Typhoons.

Think I've solved my crashes in DX:HR now with my GTX 570! Can't believe the dlc is here already - I thought it was next week for some reason and I've just bought and downloaded RAGE to play!!:p

Too many games coming out at once, so confused. :(:o
