*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

I still never understand why people would play a game like this through again, you already know all the 'levels' the missions and story. It would be a chore to me.

Oh and bets are on for how many weeks until we see DLC?

Usually i would agree with you, but games like this, splinter cell, metal gear solid (in particular) and hitman i could play over and over due to the variety of how you can do things and trying to do it without setting of an alarm or being completely non lethal, not really for the achievement but more the challenge.

A game like COD/Portal/Bioshock i would completely agree though.

I'm playing it on my laptop hooked into the TV @ 720p. It's a 4 year old Macbook Pro with a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo & 8600 GTM + 256MB. I have depth of field off, shadows on, ssao on and edge anti aliasing. It's a fairly steady 25fps.

The desktop with an i7 + 6950 plays 1920x1200 with everything on full whack a constant 60fps.

That's a fairly impressive fps with ssao and shadows on. I'll actually be curious to see how the m11x copes, but to be fair I think I'd want to play this on the desktop, just probably not at 1080p. Perhaps at 1680x1050.

Well I'll know tomorrow!

Cheers, Paul.

Been playing this for about an hour so far.

WOW. Absolutely loving it!

I think the graphics are good, not ground breaking but they are good. The storey so far, the controls and how smooth it runs makes up for this. Game of the year so far for me. Amazing.

Again maxing it out, AA, shadows, the lot at 1080p and runs not a smidge under 55FPS.

First PC game that's pulled me in since ME2.

I'm running it pretty well on a ageing system that needs a serious upgrade, but it's still playable on a 3800+ X2, 2GB DDR RAM and HD5770.

Anyone able to lend me £300 to upgrade my MB, CPU and RAM lol :p

Quick saves, and slot saves. Max 20 slot saves at a time. F5 quick save, F8 quick load :)

So I used quick saves, and slot saves for main events :) None of this checkpoint nonsense ;)

Im sold then. Still trying to understand why Crytek had checkpoint saves in Crysis 2, so i'm really happy this has quick save :) 45% downloaded

Am i being weird by saying this game has actually got me a bit excited over how thief 4 could turn out as they seem to have a quite solid handle on the sealth elements?

Got through the Detroit missions, great.

Get up next day to hear there's been a patch, wonderful. Oh look, load times are much better.

Get onto the China city hub.... crashing. Dreaded stop errors.

System stable since March, not a single problem or crash, Crysis 2, Witcher 2 both great and now this game, crashes.

Seems i'm not alone though, other reports on Eidos and Steam forums of stuttering and crashing.

187mb Vram usage and 587mb of ram probably account for some of the problems.

Ok I am so stuck. Sunk all my praxis into hacking and stealth augs only to get totally owned by the first boss. Good one game. Had to go back through the level to find some weaponry and I still cant beat the bugger.

First boss is a gimme, praxis points don't really come into it.

Stay out of range, use the pillars for cover, wait for the breaks in his fire then pump his chops full of lead. Job done.

I'm not sure why people are struggling with bosses, found the first two stupidly easy and killed them on first attempts? I'm playing on normal/medium difficulty.

Aye but its annoying when doing a non-leathal playthrough and you have no lead to pump him full of. Also when I do go and hide behind a pillar he just walks up to it and thus begins a benny hill style chase around the pillar.

I am playing on the hardest difficulty though so I die as soon as he looks at me.

I must admit I did do the benny hill run a couple times at first, didn't take long to find a rhythm though. The lack of weaponry/ammo I can see being far more of a problem, which is why I never go into battle unprepared. These guys are out to kill me, so **** em :p.

Just finished first mission, Didnt manage to save Thorpe tried the justify/reason angle but nadda think due to social skill being zero.

Also why is it only artifacting on certain characters but nothing else? I know my card is fine as all other games are perfectly fine. Spec is in signature

ALICE ****ING POD GARDENS!! I LOATHE YOU!

Ugh! What did you break in your last patch Eidos, whhhhy.

Thought I was overheating. Checked a Gpu-Z log. 54C... that's all, 187mb Vram usage. What gives?

580mb odd of normal Ram. What sort of port is this? A bummed PC game purposely buggered so they could eventually port it afterwards? A new level of porting evil.

Have to run it in DX 9 to get anywhere and it stutters like mad when you turn.

Wish there was some sort of storage facility in the apartment, I don't really want to sell my double barrel or my revolver, but damn, I have no inventory space even after upgrading it. Damn huge-ass sniper rifle.
