Official DFI NF4Ultra-D/SLi owners thread.

the SAT drivers are in with the Nvidia chipset drivers, they will make it show as a removable storage device- thats normal.

As for the USB - did have, should go if you instal lthe drivers.

Can't say I had a problem with my stacker - just rem its designed modular so it can be easy swapped to BTX format, that does seem to reduce the rigidity of the rear a little.

Yes the later Nvidia drivers are better IMHO - so I would highly recomend you go get them. Just the offical btw.

I don't use SP2 - never have.

I would be grateful If anyone running an Ultra-D wouldn't mind having a deko at the bios chip and either posting or mail me the chip codes please :)

What you want them for ?

Just flashed to BIOS 510-3beta , and found the following:

1: New memory config option, Dram Response Time - Fast/Normal

2: Memory Bandwidth increase (at same FSB/timings). For me equaled about 120MB/s, confirmed by a 0.4s decrease in SuperPI time.

3: Showing AMD X2 support (shows CPU 1 on POST screen).

So far it seems a little faster and no decrease in stability for me

OK, I can boot into Safe Mode @ 2.916 Ghz (same as Win2k), but no other mode of XP works. It just reboots before even showing the Windows XP logo!

EDIT - BIOS 310 is no different.

Too much with your Overclock, probably.

back it off a little and see where you can run stable.

Im at 300, 30 passes test 8 okay, but I get 330 odd errors in test 5!!!

Anyone know what settings I should change to stabilise test 5?

Cheers Concorde
Edit: Anyone with TCCD, whats your best Tref?

Cheers Concorde

Test 5 has always been avout Vdimm for me.

I think the 510 version of BIOS is a little buggy.

I keep losing my SATA drive, need to unplug it and swap over then go into BIOS and rescan.

was fine with 414-3

5-10 has been fine, apart from the loss of bandwidth + 1000 points off 2001.

Few Q's!
1.But, do we know how much the temp sensors on thsi board are off, in MBM 5 with the DFI Config I add + 5C to the temp, but how much is it really off?

2. "+0.3V if not using 3.2V+" can I use this at 2.9V so I could get my TCCD stable @ 300 @ 2.5-3-3-7?

3. Whats a safe Vcore for a air cooled San Diego!

Cheers Concorde

1: what makes you think its off to start with

2: Adding the +.3v option works al lthe way to 3.7v, but the DFI overvolts slightly anyway so 2.8v = 2.84 and with the +0.3v = closer to 2.9v

3: Watch your temps, but 1.55v set is in the green.

Posting for a m8 who is having probs setting up the Sata drivers:

Despite pressing F6 for my Sata drive(Samsung spinpoint, tried in both SATA slot one and three) WinXP loading sequence, I was not allowed the option to install the drivers from floppy and now left with a complete install of Windows without SATA drivers...

Could someone please advice me on where to go from here ASAP .

Many thanks

The SATA drivers are installed from the Driver CD , Nvidia Nforce4, or the latest version from this link (http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_winxp2k_6.53)
This platform driver is NEEDED .

The SATA drivers on the Floppy are not needed to install XP.

These Sandy's scale very oddly with voltage.

E.g
2725mhz stable with 1.4v
2800mhz stable with 1.425v
2850,hz stable with 1.525v
2900mhz stable with 1.55v
2950mhz stable with 1.65v
No stability over 2950 possible even upto 1.8v

At 1.85v (accidently set) massive screen corruption as though GFX memory was toasted.

Volts quoted are set in BIOS, they drop by 0.02v in windows.
