Mike your deffinitley loading your OCZ supply, might be better with the 600 or a zippy700 if you dont want to run 2PSU's

Yeah there is a fair bit on there :o but the rails are all stable! :p

Not sure I can really afford a new PSU atm and even if I could I really cba to braid all the cables :(

Yeah might be stable ATM, but with another 6800Ultra adn some FX55 clocking, you might start to suffer - although you might get away with, sinc enot every drive will be running at the same time as very intense 3D apps right ?

Just make sure you keep checking it, random reboots are a sign of under powered PSU.

If I were to have a second PSU, how would I make it come on at the same time as the other one??

Whats the Differences between the Ultra-D, SLI-D and SLI-DR? apart from SLI?

Looking to pick up a Ultra-D, try to mod it to PCI-E but not too bothered about running 2x 6800Ultra's, a x800 xt pe would be sufficent I suppose :D

Thanks.

Where does this lead go to?

Both ATX PSUs plug into the lead, which the plugs into the mobo, you get the lead with a stacker case.

One of the ATX PSUs powers the mobo through the adaptor, the other PSU is powered on by the adaptor but passes no power onto the motherboard, so thats used to power GFX and Drives.

Bennah - same question been answered a few times in thread with the exact stuff you get in each. use search this thread.

Its Green to black to turn PSU on - try and find a lead though.

Ah I wondered what that lead was for :p

Thanks for that! ;)

They're all PCI-e... Are you sure you haven't got your wires crossed here?

LOL Im so glad Im not interested in SLI, just so scared at the power required and the amount of stuff I would have to shove into a Stacker - imagine having a watercooled setup on top of that...

If I do in the future Ill probably keep the OCZ Powerstream 520w and get a modular PSU like a NeoPower or Modstream and hook up the OCZ to the 2 GFXs and everything else to the modular one...

How much power do 2 6800 Ultras take - about 450w or something at load I thought? If ATI do their own version I suspect they might need a bit more

Paul,
Wait for the LE - LA is ok, but its not rated at 1T, ppl have had far better results with LE for high HTT 1T clocking then they have withn its more expensive brother.

ps3ud0,

accoring to club3D spec, a 6800 Ultra requires 120W, so 2 would require 240Wmin.

FX55
Max Thermal Power: 104 W
Max Icc (processor current): 80A

Irs fairly linear too, so 10% increase in clock = 10% in power.

SLI mate, but the ultra D can be modded, just needs an SLI bridge, can be got hold of easily though.

my bad - quickly looked at old anandtech review - forgot it included system power aswell...

Guess 520w would be pretty ok for SLI then realistically - then again if your willing to fork out that kinda money you wouldnt skimp on possibility 2 might be better/more powerful PSU...

If Im bored one day I might rate my on each rail just to dbl check...

Dug up a little more info on GFX cards to help ppl with SLI/PSU questions.

www.xbitlabs.com for info on each.

Just noticed 6600GT is'nt on that , but:
