Official DFI NF4Ultra-D/SLi owners thread.

I flashed to the latest bios when i first got the board but the temp mointor has been working fine since then.

Just got delivery of my setup. Plugged it all in and it worked first time (though I thought it had crashed because it was so quiet).

I'll try some OC tomorrow to see how my cheap components cope.

An excellent board so far...

Check your voltages in BIOS, see if anything odd there.

If not then its likely the Monitoring chip has failed and board will need RMA>

Got my system up and running stable it seems. been playing with it most of week on and off, finally got it where it seems to be in an everyday usable state.
Not too much heat and not too loud but still fast enough. :)

Specs: Dfi NF4 Sli-DR | Amd64-3500 wk50 | Leadtek 6800GT | 2x512gb Gskill LA | OCZ 520 Powerstream| Freezer 64 | Raptor 74 gb | All in large chieftec full tower|

Did have it up to 300mhz at one point but was not happy so have :

3500@2601 (289x9 HTTx3)
volts:- Cpu: 1.50 + 104%
LDT: 1.20
Chipset: 1.6
Dram: 2.80

Memory is left at auto for now but is giving me 2.5/4/4/8 1T @1:1

Runs prime torture test fine, 33s on pi 1mb

With 6800gt @ 422/1140 it gives following 3dmark results:

3dmark2001SE - 26931
3dmark03 - 13522
3dmark05 - 5423

With 66.93 leadtek driver .

Running with just a couple of akasa 120mm fans it's a fairly quiet system for the output. Not amazing results by some of the standards on here but please bear in mind this is an upgrade from a reasonably quiet shuttle system so OCing skills are a little rusty and my ears very sensitive :D

Not too shabby tho is it??

I knew you was going to say that, I did read your sig, but some ppl seem tochange hardware faster then they can update their Sig ;)

Anyway try it at 2T and see how far you get.
Don't forget to set the HTT multiplier to 3x when you push over 250mhz.
Also, TCCD at CAs3 - eek, should'nt go any slacker then 2.5,4,8,4 2T.

It could be your CPU though, what week is it ?

Tried everything you said and still couldnt hit 266 this stuff is rated as 3-4-4-8 1T for 266 by the manufactures and i'm a good 10-15Mhz off that, so its pretty much the ram then?

Test them both individually first. It could well be the memory controller on your CPU, rather than the memory itself.

Do you know anyone else who can test out your memory for you?

Yeah as duffman said, that is the next logical step.

But as I said, most TCCD can hold cas2.5 upto 270+ anyway, so PDPsys have just been very conservative with their timings.
As also pointed out already - could be your CPU, I already asked what week it was, ( just need the full second line of code from off the top of your CPU).

Its week 44 and i have problems trying to get the system to boot with one stick of ram but i'll try later today

Which slot are you trying it in?

Also, what voltages are you using. I can't get anywhere without 2.7v+ on this board, even with my G.Skill LE. I'm using 3.0v now to pass memtest overnight at 310.

My 6800 ultras are getting a little hot in this board so I was looking at getting a couple of Arctic Silencer NV5s. Will these fit in this board with the proximity of the chipset HSF? I know there are issues with the HIS Ati cards that have a similar cooler.

Rilot my arctitc silencer for my x800xl fits fine if you think it might be a problem why not just put it into the lower slot. I've figured out the problem with my RAM, I got it to boot with 1 stick in the orange slot furthest from CPU and where as one stick mangaged to do 280 so far 1:1 I couldnt even get the other to boot at 250 1:1 with the same setting! So it looks like i'm gonna have to RMA the ram great....

Was just going to post - its the slot furthest away :)

Anyway, at least you tracked it down, only takes 1 bad chip to stop you in your tracks.

Not been hearing good things about direct RMA to PDPsys, so try your very best to go through your supplier.

I have 2 6800 Ultras in SLI so one will be in each slot.

MikeHowett - I use 2 PSUs in a CM stacker case. An Akasa PaxPower 460W powers the mobo and one 6800 ultra. An Antec TP 550W powers my drives and the other 6800 ultra.

Is that really necessary? Do you think i'll be able to get away with just my OCZ 520W?

Dunno whether it's strictly necessary. I have done it that way because I had the TP 550W spare.

Rest of rig:

SLI-D
2 x 6800 Ultras
2 x 36GB Raptors
2 x 120GB Maxtor Plus 9
2 x NEC 3520
Audigy 2 ZS Plat Pro
2 x UV cold cathodes
3 x 120mm LED fans
1 x 80mm LED fan

It would probably be fine with just the one supply TBH.

Thanks Rilot!

This is what I have currently:

1 x 6800 Ultra
2 x 74GB Raptors
1 x 80GB Seagate Baracuda
1 x 120GB Seagate Baracuda
2 x Sony CD-RWs
1 x Audigy 2
5 x UV Cathode
3 x 120mm UV LED fans
3 x 80mm UV LED fans

4 of the fans (3 x 80mm, 1 x 120mm) run off an Aerocool Gatewatch fan controller.

And there's my FX55 which i'm sure takes some juice!

If I were to add another 6800Ultra, do you think I would have much room for overclocking?

:)

Mike your deffinitley loading your OCZ supply, might be better with the 600 or a zippy700 if you dont want to run 2PSU's
