Official DFI NF4Ultra-D/SLi owners thread.

I'm having trouble getting this board to boot with both 512mb ram chips... Any advice?

Using Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200XL Pro TwinX (2x512MB), with the Ultra D, 3700SD, 480W Neopower, Bios:310.

I've tried all the slots, will run windows fine with each stick if used alone, but put them together and it restarts before you get into windows. BIOS is on defaults, i've tried clearing the CMOS. Cheers!

Try BIOS 414-3 and use both orange slots. See if that fixes it. I had problems initially because some of the BIOS's don't like TCCD ram. Mine works fine with these slots and BIOS and that is basicallt the same setup as me.

First overclocked benchies @ 2.75Ghz.

System Setup:
AMD Athlon 3700+ San Diego - 2752mhz with 1.425V
DFi LanParty nForce 4 SLi-DR - 275HTT - 3x HTT Multi - 1.4V LDT & 1.7V Chipset.
G-Skill TCCD 'LE' @ 275FSN (DDR550) @ 2.5-3-3-6 @ 2.9V
XFX 6800 Ultra PCi-E @ 451/1220
OCZ PowerStream 520W
Coolermaster Stacker
Thermalright XP-120 with YS-TECH 120x120x63mm fan.

3D Mark 2001: 29166
3D Mark 2003: 14743
3D Mark 2005: 6228
Aquamark: 84494

Super Pi is sub 30 secs

Gonna leave it at 275x10 for a week see how things are.

thanks for the reply , do you know if there are any hard drives it doesnt like

No worries. :)

I've never heard of any problems with any hard drives. They support the old IDE, SATA & SATA2 so I doubt there are many out there it wont work with...

Personnaly i've got samsung & seagate sata drives and there's been no problems at all. Now i've flashed to the newbios this is a very nice board!!!

Just flashed to BIOS 510-3beta , and found the following:

1: New memory config option, Dram Response Time - Fast/Normal

2: Memory Bandwidth increase (at same FSB/timings). For me equaled about 120MB/s, confirmed by a 0.4s decrease in SuperPI time.

3: Showing AMD X2 support (shows CPU 1 on POST screen).

So far it seems a little faster and no decrease in stability for me
