Are you happy now then Simon , worth the wait ? ;)

Yes very happy... Can boot at 2.9Ghz  320 1:1 with the RAM 1T cant super PI yet, give me time lol

CPU is week 50, HTT set to x3

I found one issue with the PCI-E Bus, setting to 101 in the bios made more stable.

This is all with the shipping bios btw

Good to know about about the week no. of the Winnie....I've a week 50 3500+ too, but I'll be running on a stock cooler at the moment.

I want to push up the FSB to stretch the legs of my XMS4400 memory. Should this be okay if I keep the multiplier down for the time being?

Will get an XP120 or similar in the near future

Paul

Well, since lots of people have been having problems with TCCD memory, I might as well post that I've not had any problems so far with XMS 3200XL TCCD memory. Just stuck both modules in, and everything seems to be going nicely so far.

And simon - 2.9Ghz?! That's ******* insane! My FX55 on *phase change* only does 3.0Ghz stable...

im at 220x11 lol, 2.4Ghz with 1.475V set in BIOS 36C load temps.

only BH-5 atm so dont kill me :(

Nothing wrong with BH5 on this board, give it 3.5v and it should start to fly.
My BH5 @ 270 http://www.ricco.karoo.net/images/DFI_Bh5_270_415HTT.jpg

nice work Simon, Yes I also acidently found the 100mhz PCIe bug, but totaly forgot to mention it, I'll update first post with that.

you get what you pay for with the ultra-d though, no SLI bridge, only works with the current (older) drivers as nvidia will disable it in later ones, and you'll only get 80% of the performance of an SLI-D board in this way anyway

so i probably suggest if you are seriously looking at SLI just go with the SLI-D or -DR

hmm i read on the xtreme forums in that post this board likes higher FSB than tight timings, but what do you suggest, GSKILL or OCZ VX memory? :)

ah ok, correction.. pencil mod allows use of newer drivers :p (as i just ordered an SLI-DR this isn't much of an issue to me though :))

I've decided to wait, as I won't be using it for a month (main factor). But more places will stock the DFI skt939's and prices may fall due to when they become more readily available. I also think finding an SLi bridge when purchasing the Ultra-D will be hard, as you can't buy them seperately (to my knowledge) and few people getting them bundled will want to part with them.

ta for reponse ricco, appreciated. and btw, get a new background mate :D

Background images take up system memory m8y, I dont sit and look at my desktop too often ;)

Tenshi
TCCD for you m8y, make sure you follow the discusions regarding TCCD v VX/BH5 etc in memory forum.

Okay, well I take it all back.

Having problems with this board and this memory now...

Ricco - this memory STILL won't run at CAS2.5 or 3.0. If I enable bank interleave I manage to get to the login screen before it hangs, and if I disable it I don't even manage to get the system to initialise or begin POST. Either way, it dies before I can get into BIOS, and I have to clear CMOS to continue.

So, either there's something wrong with these memory modules, or they just don't like NF4 boards fulls stop. I'd RMA them, but they do what they're rated for (2/2/2/5 at 200), so I can't.

Knew I should have just got some g.skill instead...

hmm, as I said Duff-man they were 100% rock solid on my Nf3 Neo2(well now sold).

have you tried upping the volts, as its turning out TCCD is liking Vdimm on the Nf4, something I didn't know before.

SHould be fine, although everyone else might frown at you for running them in your DFI :D

Just a quick one for those people using onboard audio...

Why are there 2 sets of drivers? - nvidia and ac97

Should I have both or just one... if so, which one :)

Kadison I just use the Nvidia ones.

Duff-man, I honestly would'nt have sold you the mem if I had of known, BUT with the price you poayed for it, you won't lose any if you put it in MM for the same amount and then try Gskill.

I know - I'm not trying to imply you were being dishonest or anything mate. Just a little peeved is all... I really expected this board to solve the problem :/

I think I'll start a clearout thread in MM. I've got the old Asus SLI board to sell, along with an Abit A8V 3rd eye, and an XP120. Might also sell my soundcard and speakers as well, I'll see...

... On the plus side, the bank-interleave seems to have given a decent performance boost over the Asus A8N at the same settings though. I get 27s rather than 28s on super-pi, for what it's worth.

The CPU won't go any further though. Not that I particularly held out any hope of a miraculous turn around there!

edit - maximum stable speed at 2/3/3/7 timings with these modules has gone up to 256Mhz from 235Mhz on the Asus A8N-SLI also. I guess the DFI board lives up to it's reputation with TCCD chips...

I've just together my new PC build using SLI-DR, 2 x 512mb Geil PC3200 value in slots 2&4, AMD 3500+ Winchester, WD160JD SATA drive and when I boot up to install XP it says that 'setup is checking hardware settings for configuration.....' or very similar message and then just sits there doing not much else.

I'm a bit of a noob but not a total noob, I built my old PC but that was a good few years back, any ideas?

Andy.

Try installing windows with only one stick of RAM in. Take them out of the orange slots, and use a single stick in the top (yellow) slot.

Once you get windows installed, you can install the latest (beta) BIOS from windows easily enough, using the winflash utility and BIOS file that ricco links to in his first post. Hopefully that should fix your problem.
