Official DFI NF4Ultra-D/SLi owners thread.

Does anyone know how to fix the following issues I have with this board:

1) the Floppy drive just won't work. I've tried all combinations of cabling. If I use it the wrong way round on purpose, the floppy light remains permanently on, if I use it the right way round however, the drive doesn't work. I've tried 2 different cables.

2) Sometimes on this new BIOS 510-3 here, my keyboard (PS/2) doesn't work at logon. Can be frustrating. Usually only when I've just fiddled with something in the BIOS.

i found tref 4708 most stable for me at 2.5-3-3-10 297MHz and also 3V was more stable than 2.9V.
thats as high as mine go, have to drop to 2.5-4-3-10 to get to 313 stable.

edit: mine also likes Data drive at 5 and Data Strength at 2.

3V , I dont think I will be going there!

276Mhz @ 2.5-3-3-7 is stable lol.

I think the 510 version of BIOS is a little buggy.

I keep losing my SATA drive, need to unplug it and swap over then go into BIOS and rescan.

was fine with 414-3

5-10 has been fine, apart from the loss of bandwidth + 1000 points off 2001.

Few Q's!
1.But, do we know how much the temp sensors on thsi board are off, in MBM 5 with the DFI Config I add + 5C to the temp, but how much is it really off?

2. "+0.3V if not using 3.2V+" can I use this at 2.9V so I could get my TCCD stable @ 300 @ 2.5-3-3-7?

3. Whats a safe Vcore for a air cooled San Diego!

Cheers Concorde

I presume FDC is enabled in the BIOS.....
I've tried it enabled, disabled, tried changing the floppy to drive B. It just won't work when plugged in the right way round. Only shows signs of life when I plug it in the wrong way round lol - the light stays permanently on as it should. Damn floppy - I've got a Boot CD with DOS on it now but I still would like my floppy back.

1: what makes you think its off to start with

2: Adding the +.3v option works al lthe way to 3.7v, but the DFI overvolts slightly anyway so 2.8v = 2.84 and with the +0.3v = closer to 2.9v

3: Watch your temps, but 1.55v set is in the green.

I think the temp reading on this board are the most accurate I've seen on any board, then again I've just come from an MSI where it's pot luck if you get within 10C of the actual reading.

Wow, So I have a 2.76GHz San Deigo at 37C load? W00t! ;) (I think its off cos it cant be possible with this pushing over 100W out - It is 14C in here so I suppose it could be right!)

Okay then, I will try the +0.03V option sometime :D

1.55V it is then!

I got a SD at 39C full load. I trust it cos my water does often feel cold. Then again, I've got 1.61V goiing through mine so it's understandable.

Yeh, I wonder if its okay putting 3V through my TCCD. They have the XP-120 + a fan over them so they should be okay.

However, I am BOINCing atm (Distrubuted computing ;) ) and no errors as of yet so on I go!

Should be fine especially with a fan blowing over it like the XP-120's. Don't forget they are rated up to 2.95V so 0.5V isn't going to really do much.

I've got a low profile 60mm fan sitting right on top of my OCZ Rev.2 using an the elastic band and screws method as seen over at XS. Works quite well and I've got the fan on 7v so no noise for me :)

Got bored of being at 276x10, memtesting now @ 285 with 2.96V. 2.5-3-3-7 ;)

12 passes, test 5.

Edit: so just over 3V 24/7 should be fine for my TCCD 440s?
