Official DFI NF4Ultra-D/SLi owners thread.

I wish I could do that, but the XP-120 gets in the way. I have a 80mm there atm, Im going to replace it with something more, powerful ;). A ThermalTake Smart Fan 2.

Test 5, 2.5-3-3-7, 2.96V = 73 passes over one hour!

Holy cow! I hope you've got those two black YSTech 38mm thick fans on a fan controller of some sort! I've 7-volted mine and they still a touch on the noisy-ish side :o

Looks like you've got a Stacker and a Tagan like I have then :)

Got bored of being at 276x10, memtesting now @ 285 with 2.96V. 2.5-3-3-7 ;)

12 passes, test 5.

Concorde

Edit: so just over 3V 24/7 should be fine for my TCCD 440s?

lol and you told me no way at 3V. :p
im sure with a fan they are safe.i have a zalman bracket with an 80mm silnex on it and they are barely warm to touch. if you set BIOS at 2.9V and add that 0.3 when not at 3.2V option you will be sitting on 2.99-3V as i have here. ;)
get me to the magic 296MHz whereas without that 0.3V I can get over 290 at 2.5-3-3-7.

ah you also have the powerstream. i have one too, great for overvolting the 5V rail to get more out of this X850XTPE. ;)

Oh well, I tried to get 300 stable @ 2.5-4-3-7, but it wasn't having any of it, 4 errors after the first pass of test 5 :(

Given up now, testing my CPU now instead!

when you finish playing with cpu try the various BIOS like 509-2 and others for TCCD.you never know there seems to be a few MHz variation for some with different BIOS. also maybe a little burn in at your max memtest error free overclock overnight might yeild a couple of MHz.

Nah, I think I will stay at 280x10 now. I will try again with 3V when the next **** of BIOS'es come along.

Now I have to revise :(

Good luck James

You Sir are, correct! How did you find my name out lol :o

Anyway, my latest efforts with the San Diego! Not really an effort tho, more of a raise the multi + HTT with some more V lol :o

1.45V in BIOS, on friday it wouldn't even get into windows at 2.8ghz @ 1.50V.

Does anyone know how to fix the following issues I have with this board:

1) the Floppy drive just won't work. I've tried all combinations of cabling. If I use it the wrong way round on purpose, the floppy light remains permanently on, if I use it the right way round however, the drive doesn't work. I've tried 2 different cables.

Lian li case? using he lian li floppy bezel?

Nope. My own Fujitsu siemens case (this computer started out as a pentium 4 3.0ghz HT LOL). Just won't damn work

ah ok, i had s imular problem when using a lian li floppy bezel, if placed to close tot he front for somereason the floppy wudnt sit properly in the drive and would appear to be not working, moving it back a little solved everything, thought it may be a simualr thing for you

no worrys

Any chance you can post down your bios settings. Im running a similar setup to you and it could be really useful. Cheers! :)

its looking good there James.:p
maybe burn in helps with the SD?also was this after disabling the empty slots with A64 Tweaker?well my SD comes tomorrow, fingers crossed its as good as your chip. :D

Well this is strange.

Got my new PSU (PC P&C 510 Deluxe SLI) after my OCZ Powerstream 520 went t**s up.

Got my SD3700+ set back up cooled with Phase change on the DFI NF4 SLI-DR board with 2x6800 Ultras Watercooled & using 2x512meg sticks of Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC4000 RAM.

When I boot I never get as far as being able to access the BIOS.

My VGA seems to be working OK as I get a display on my TFT panel.

I can press Tab to get rid of the splash screen & the POST screen says it has detected my Sandy. However it always freezes at 1024K into the memory test. I cannot get access to the BIOS at all.

The diagnostic LEDs never get as far as the last light (which remains on)

I thought the Sandy might be suffering from the "cold bug".
However looking at the symptoms the CPU appears on the POST screen as recognised & the LEDs do not stop at 3 LEDs. They do not stop at 2 LEDs either indicating that my RAM has been recognised, but with the POST test never getting past 1024K I wonder if the DFI does not like my RAM.

I've tried various combinations of 1 stick in Slot 2 (1st orange) & slot 3 (1st yellow) & 2 sticks in slots 2 & 4 & also 1 & 3. Still sticks at the memory test.

What's really frustrating is I cannot get to the BIOS at all to make any changes to settings.

I've tried the various jumper resets for the CMOS & Safe mode. I've even left the battery out overnight. Still no dice!

Any suggestions?
