Not played Riki in ages, has he been buffed as much as rumoured in the patch?

When he is invisible he can use items / spellswithout being made visible. Its a very niche buff.

It is rather comical however to see a random dagon shot come from no where and fry someone :D .

Riki is pretty murderous in pub games but that's just because its not the best crowd and not working as a team. No one uses gems etc, if anyone did he's rendered rather useless especially if he doesn't get a nice farm.

God, I love Dota. Closing in on 100 hours played, believe that's over three weeks. Still so much to learn, but enjoying the hell out of all of it.

If anyone wants to throw me some invites, I'd be more than happy to contribute. Steam is outline01

Who is CAI on here?

We had a great game earlier :) PA with me as Dazzle as support. Kicked some serous butt and I learned a bit about playing support well, ws good teamwork :)

We lost 2 players and looked although we were about to lose especially when they started picking on me first then CAI suggested getting one of the abandoned heroes.... Blood, PA and Axe and we wiped them out in one big push got about 10 kills for no losses and won :D

Great game, cheers mate!

That was me No1newts it was a decent game despite being in low priority and with a couple of leavers on both teams. If you manage to get games with some of the guys from the OCUK guild you will learn a lot faster.

I've been quite lucky in getting to play with some players that have in excess of 600 wins, which is easily 1200 games. Considering some of these guys played the original Dota or HoN then you get a load of tips that you would take a lot longer to discover on your own.

What's really disappointing is when trying to play solo public. Now that I have a basic knowledge of which heroes lane better together or why a certain combination of heroes is particularly weak, playing solo can be a soul destroying process. You can be in a game and know within 10 minutes that it's a 100% loss.

Talking about the games when there are 5 pretty much hard carry s, zero support, no wards, no courier after 10-14 minutes etc.

Do what you can to play in a group, it's far, far, more enjoyable even if you get beat, the games are usually closer and there can be some constructive criticism, that allows you to learn from mistakes faster ;)

I went like 21/2 yesterday with Riki -

Running around with my diffusal and a DAGON HAHA.

Sitting in lane next a low hp hero then out of NO WHERE nuked by Dagon hahahah.

Best part is that they never see me even after ive used my Dagon as I can activate it while invisible.

Activate phase boots case Diffusal Q W auto attack - DAGON :D

Riki is easy to do well with at low level since people don't know how to deal with him at all. When really all you need is sentry wards or dust.

Also you probably want to get treads on Riki since the extra agility helps him a lot ;)

Oh I agree anyone with a brain or some teamwork can counter Riki, amusingly enough in most pub games these are missing leading to calls of being a hacker :p

I hate being against a Rikki, fine if he is in my lane. I never play solo so I'll be in lane with a friend, we always get sentries and kill him as much as we can early game.

Just sucks when he then goes roaming and the other lanes don't bother doing the same and feed.

It's so simple spend that 200 on sentries, and destroy him when he comes to your lane thinking you can't see him.

I do love playing him for this reason though! :p

Had a game with CAI and a group who I'm guessing must be his regular team mates.

Wow, shows me how much I have to learn! Think it was quite a high won bracket above mine and the standard was waaaay above what I've took part in before. We lost in the end and whilst I did what I normally did it wasn't enough! You seem to need to have everything running perfectly or you are bummed and the noob mistakes I made which I could get away with in a pub cost us.

Great game though and certainly will stop me from bring complacent and thinking I know anything at all never mind a lot! :p

Would have helped to have you on comms so the guys could have given you a few suggestions. I was disgustingly bad at middle with Storm Spirit though, by the time I got up to speed we were probably a little to far behind.
