Why everyone complaining what's as the game done?

The games fine, just wish valve would pretend to care about it. Bit strange as its the biggest game on steam but they do some odd things when it comes to customer relations.

For instance they put on a brilliant event with TI3 yet in game they didn't update the front page with the winners for weeks, the keys for the TI chest could still be bought from the shop for weeks after even though you couldn't use them.
Just no apparent interest, the front page news is still about the second too last patch from months ago even though they did the biggest game changing update in a very long time a couple of weeks ago.

For the income they get from this game just seems they could hire one guy to keep on top of the community side of it.

All the official dota forums like dev.dota2.com are completely ignored by the staff.

Games awesome but i can understand the internet rage from people towards valve :D

I got reported for not understanding Russian the other day. They all laughed and for the rest of the game made fun of it. :(

I really really wish they would crack down on this. I have no problem playing with Russians if they can speak English. But they have selected to option that they can and then come into the game with their strange words. Their should be a report option for it tbh. Then they will stick to their own speaking servers.

Wow an actual good post in this thread

But yeah, I agree. They are doing good things with the game itself but lack of communication and lack of effort on the community side of things is really disappointing.

But I'm pretty sure I read that Valve lets employees do whatever job they want to so I wouldn't want to handle the dota 2 community either :p

They're doing the bare minimum with the game at best unless there's a huge patch fixing hundreds of bugs, bringing more parity with dota and proper custom games

Great post, and yes it's a real shame. Valve have this dark horse, elusiveness about them, but I really don't think it's doing them any favours. Especially when you consider how huge forums/Reddit/Twitter have become... Negative stories about them can spread like wildfire. Diretide is just one example of that (players who have never even heard of Diretide are suddenly furious at Valve)

It's a real shame, as it could be so much more... But, everyone's so committed now, I can't particularly see it changing.

The community is the only thing pushing the game forward, the pro scenes run well with lots of tournaments and good casters putting in a lot of effort, most the store updates are from the steam workshop anyway.
It would be interesting to know how much resources valve are actually putting into the game.
All they seem to of done is pay icefrog to port the already complete WC3 mod to source and milk it for all its worth, which is a lot.

I have recently started playing DOTA and am really enjoying it. The players I've come across just appear to leave games, which is very frustrating.

If anyone wants to add me on steam, alias: sh33pst3r then please do!

I'd be more than happy to actually play in a 5 man team or play in a guild/community that has some co-ordination to which I can learn the game more

Have added you bud. Haven't played with many, but I'm happy to jump into a game if you ever see me online. Relatively new to the game also.

Thanks! See, the OCUK community always saves the day where the games individual ones let you down.

I'll jump on after work tonight and setup a couple of games.

p.s. Shotgun bottom lane ha-ha
