*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

I've had great games with Russians. More often than not they're fine to play with. It's just those games where the team starts speaking Russian, you say something like "if it's team related, please speak in English" you get "cyka" back then their only form of communication is spamming ping on the minimap. It's not a fun experience and seems to exclusively evolve around Russian players.
 
Mute them then. Majority of players don't communicate at all and it really isn't 100% needed in pubs either.

I never speak to my team other than pings or chat wheel messages.

People always seem to think its only Russians as well when people that speak English are usually worse, if you don't want to have someone ruining your game then five stack, no other way around it. Even at the high level of mmr you are still gonna get people that don't communicate or work as a team.
 
Why is it so many times I play a game (as the only support) and we are winning, have a good tower and level advantage, and then people get cocky think they can go in 1 v 5 and win?

Bemuses me.

So many games get thrown.

Argh man I get so angry at this game sometimes, sorry for ranting in here I'm sure you all know the feeling.
 
Well I'm very slowly beginning to get there... had a few games with Murray and got some useful (and non-shouted!) feedback... and a few more with Taranatar where he tried to help me understand how + when to use wards effectively... Both appreciated :)

Think I've played about 14 games and won 4, so still a long way to go, but now at least I don't feel like half the time I have no idea what I should be doing

You'll get there bud. With DOTA there's just a massive cliff you have to get over in terms of understanding the game mechanics. Once you're over it, it's a lot better. I recently got over that cliff and actually starting to enjoy the game, but it has been one of the most difficult games I've played to get into.
 
2 wins and 2 losses last night.

Had a great game as Broodmother in a close match. It was the while team pushing with me defending solo (and winning every time :p) ended 9/0 and really hammered it s Brood, never liked the character before now but really enjoyed it.

Would have had better k/d but was sitting defending and when it reached endgame my amount of kills dropped off as they mainly focused on defending. Most fun was out riki'ing Riki :p:D

Thanks for the kind words :)

Perhaps the complicated layered mechanics and tough learning curve are what's responsible for a lot of what feels like player's bitching and poor attitude towards each other - it's easy to forget that everyone has to start somewhere and there is a lot to learn

Nah, you were fine to play with and you seemed quite open to learning. You will get on fine with the game as time goes on.
 
Pubs are so irritatingly retarded. Oh noes it Riki what should we do?!?!? Well we certainly won't buy and wards and we certainly will let him dominate trololololol.
