That's pretty much enough but if the game hasn't ended I go AC/Deso just so towers continue to melt even faster.

You find yourself going greedy or just split pushing?

I go slightly different.

Go Vlads>Boots>Necro (3)>AC>Deso.

Haven't found a massive need for medallion yet and find I get more from getting Necro that little earlier.
 
Am I right in saying I probably shouldn't play this game at night? Only it seems to be Russian ran. Like I'm the only English person in the server.
 
So I thought ranked was supposed to be people playing properly aka (tryharding) ?

The calibration games so far have been really stressful matches. Infuriating decisions and hero choices.

With our lineup currently: Me (WK), Puck, Lina and Bristle. The 5th guy decides to pickup Luna :/ So I give him safelane and attempt to jungle with WK which is really awful but it's better than me trying to compete for farm and levels with Luna.

Once sniper on the opposite team got big it was game over, needed the puck to lock him down but he wasn't doing this. I tried to farm up blink dagger after blade mail when I realised just how much of a problem the sniper was becoming and being unable to rely on the puck.

Next game ends up being a win but this team wanted to make such hard work of it. We are up against a rikki and Mirana. So I carry dust for the rikki but ask the team to bring some sentries. I ask if puck (same puck as last game btw :( ) can buy a gem asap. He says no. I am on sniper this game and quickly farm up a gem for the team when I realise no-one else is going to do it.

Luna asks if she can carry the gem, which suits me but then proceeds to dive past tier 4 towers and lose it :/ The Luna then purchases a 2nd gem and lets our bristleback carry it. During a team fight the Luna abandons the bristle and goes running off on her own, we lose the gem again... but it's ok our puck has picked it up!! horray. Ok great so all he needs to do is blink out, we only have puck and Luna left alive on 30% hp each.

Nope, puck stays and gets picked off by the Rikki, we lose the gem again lol.

So after losing our 2nd gem the team finally make a wise decision to stop running down middle and to actually defend for a bit on our high ground. I ask if our support veno can put some sentries down outside the base and ward the jungle so we can see if they Mirana ult. Nope he wants to finish his orchid.

Luna buys a set of sentries (must be feeling guilty after basically losing us both gems) I ask puck if he can place them outside the base, seeing as he has an escape etc but nope he says he isn't doing it. So despite being one of the squishiest slowest heroes in the match, I drop one of my items and go out to put the sentries down. GG team play.

The other team must have been absolute baddies for us to get the win in the end.
 
Never liked Puck before snide playing him once, found him rather useless.

That was a long time ago but just finished a game with him, maybe I'm just more used to the game and better able to handle him but he is awesome!!! Finished 19/2/33 and dominated. He is so good for nipping in with a nuke then escape tactics, his damage output surprises a lot as well.

Going to practice a bit more to see if that was a fluke but on that evidence I'm in love :p
 
So after the Mirana takes my 3rd regeneration rune (I am Storm Spirit) I use my bloodstone to suicide and proceed to throw the game. Felt dirty but I'm getting pretty sick of some of the people I get. I would never take a Storm Spirits regen rune. Lost 500 rating now, sigh

I would be feeling pretty sick of the people I get too if I were to be placed on a team with someone who deliberately threw the game over a couple of runes and is arrogant to the point where they lose 20 matches and are still blaming their team.

Its just a rune, helpful to keep you in lane/ganking easier but hardly essential. If enemy had got the rune then what?

You bottle crow thats what. People like you that go and intentionally throw a ranked game need banning full stop.

Must agree.

Bad teamwork annoys the life out of me but just report him don't wreck the game for everyone else, if there was less childish **** like your antics in dota everyday the game would generally be a better place.
 
Well normally I'm pretty chill. But when I walk to the rune and he waits and then takes it at the last second... meh I just give up. Think I need a break from Dota anyway. Once you get stuck in potato bracket it's pretty hard to get out. And if it's not this it's kids screaming at you in Russian...

That's a bit harsh really. I don't normally do stuff like that but sometimes you just get pee'd off with the level of bull crap in Dota. Had another gem of a game earlier where the pudge on our team would blink into the enemy and hook team mates to them. It seemed pretty unprovoked too and as soon as that happens there is nothing you can do, it's lost already.

You seem like a bundle of fun. If you think you are better than the potato bracket, then why are you in it? It's quite clear when someone is playing in a game they are a step above.

Throwing games is childish and selfish a regen rune isn't going to win you a game (95% of the time) but intentionally throwing it is going to lose you one. I hope you got reported and you get banned and your hardware explodes and you never get to play an online co-operative game again.

But I do agree.

It's like throwing the game if your support doesn't upgrade the courier exactly on the 3 minute mark

Yeah happens all too much which is why i am forever uninstalling dota, but then you became like that pudge when you threw the game lol. Maybe someone took his rune? The problem is that too many times I will go in a solo ranked only to have someone intentionally throw or just hurl abuse at the team the entire game. The problem with playing team games with randoms, why i have always preferred games that can just be soloed.

Supports upgrade couriers? Surely you mean after they finish their MoC and euls right?

Gotta get that euls so they can whirlwind themselves to avoid those ward spots, dont wanna be placing no wards there :o

Oh don't be so self-righteous. I would say anything below 5k is potato bracket and since there are very few in this thread who have been above that most will be able to relate. The difference above and below 4k seems to be quite marked though. There seems to be a lot less bullcrap above the 4k mark
