*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

I never rage against people for playing badly. I pretty much always assume that they're new to the game, that hero, or something on the enemy team is countering them badly.

The only two things that annoy me are players being abusive to team mates for whatever reason, or someone on the enemy team being lame and unsporting. It's stuff that's totally unnecessary.

Anybody else constantly gets "Warning: Connection Problem" lag spikes, they last quite long 5-10seconds, is it problem on my end or common problem?

i went through a phase with that on USEast (playing from UK) and it was nothing to do with me as I could play on USWest on 200 ping fine.

I'm finding that I love ursa too much. It is disgusting what you can end up doing in pub games.

On the other hand, nature's prophet is terrible as everyone buggers off and leaves you.

I was undoubtedly playing him badly, but i found his dps so poor that enemy heros ignored creeps, survived the cc and then forced me to run away or die.

Don't lane with furion, he has ridiculous auto attack dmg if you can grab a desolater.

My build for pub is.

RoB + 2 clarity for jungle
Hand of midas
Steam boots
Sycthe
Desolater

If youre doing well can have this around 25 min, then go attack speed item + bkb and you'll tear half their team in a few seconds

If you lane Furion (NP's dota name) you're going to have a really bad time. You can also do some mad ganks* aside from being the complete king of the jungle. I'd highly recommend you learn him by watching a vid or two on farming so you can get the hang of rotating through your treants and then practicing for a game or two. I love a good bit of orchid on furion vs spell heavy teams too, they get to sit in your circle of trees and be useless at the same time :D

* assuming your team isn't (a) moronic or (b) the enemy knows how to get out of trees when you teleport in.

tried dagon rush? insanely fun for ganks.

Dagon's a terrible pick on Furion, the thing can have so much late game viability, spending 6 or 7k gold on Dagon which becomes completely irrelevant late game is just stupid.

You don't have to level up the dagon fully :p

But i agree dagon is pretty bad.

Furion is great because you can adapt to the game at hand. Sometimes its a good idea to get a mek first because your early team fighting will be so much stronger. Mek is always a good choice.

Or if you are planning to semi carry, go midas and then get what you want from there sheep/orchid into desolator/maelstrom etc.

Its not terrible, but its not amazing. I've seen a few pro games where they rush dagon by around 9min and gank everywhere. and its only like 3k gold.

I don't think Dagon is a terrible pick for any hero or build, it's just that the majority of the time there are better items to get. With the exception of certain heroes where it's core (eg Nyx), most of the time people just seem to get it because they can't think of anything else to get.

Similarly with the guy that recommended Shadow Blade for NP - it's not a bad item choice per say, but it's not really necessary because of his teleport.

They can't do that, I think the most plausible way of addressing this issue is to make an efficient punishing mechanic.

I report 1-2 players per game in about 99% of games and so does everybody else; yet still there are people who text and verbal abuse everybody. I reckon there needs to be a harsher punishing tool, such as complete lock out from the game for not speaking english on english server or being rude. This will address all the social issues, not just ruski problem.

I hope valve is going to address the appalling social aspect of the game, as of now the amount of abuse in just about every game is insane.

Then people just report to be malicious, and you'd get innocents getting banned.

Still getting immensely frustrated by complete idiotic teams, even at level 10+, who don't seem to know what to do.
