*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

Me and 3 friends are looking for someone to play with us, since we are sick of having a terrible random 5th all the time. We have also made a clan, so having 5 means we can start building team rating and getting matched against teams a similar skill level to us.

We are far from pro and have quite a diverse skill range, but we do take it (kinda) seriously; predominantly we have fun and lots of laughs.

We are in our mid 20s and play 4-5 evenings a week, sometimes less and sometimes more as we have real life commitments, so if anyone is up for this add me:

Must have vent, be up for a laugh, understand the basics of DOTA.

NO RUSSIANS :)

I'm defp up for this, random pubs are doing my nut in. I got to +35 wins and it's like match making has made me lose my last 12 games!!!!

Had the same thing, got too many wins in a row making my win rate something like 60% then suddenly found myself to be teamed up with completely horrible players.

Thought I was being paranoid or it is just bad luck but it seems matchmaking tries to force 50% win rate on people by simply teaming them up with horrible players to lose. Coincidentally, after losing hell of a lot of games I started getting paired up with some really good players that clearly could win the game on their own.

Basically yeah, only way to enjoy dota2 is to play with friends and look for games as team of 5 as it seems.

Excellent :) Unfortunately I don't think we are all around tonight but some of us will be playing! Accepted your request

Sweet, that's cool. Im at work atm anyways. I generally try and fit 2/3 games a evening. I play a lot of IPB from this forum so if there are spaces im sure he would also want to fill in :D

Exactly the same happens to me. My win rate is around 50% as well. So frustrating once you've hit a good run, but I'm guessing that it's actually a good match making system because of this.

Please feel free to add me!

I'm really hoping they introduce the system they have in CS:GO.

Basically different skill level brackets like dotabuff has but it will only reveal it at the end of the game, gives you a good idea on how you are doing and if you have been improving on regressing and will let you see what kind of team mates you've been paired with/enemies you've been playing at the end of the game.

Gabe said they've been looking into a suitable system and I'm kind of hoping it is out soon.

Can you link your profile? Cant find you!

2 more losses tonight. Only 21 more loses until valve has got me back to 50/50 win ratio. In my match history my latest page displays 1 win! So bloody depressing, I just want to play some even competitive games and not get crushed cos some random dude on my team feeds of farms woods for 45mins and don't say a word.

Hey, be more positive, is only game cyka ))))))))))))))))))))))))). Pretty sure ELO (and nearly all variants of it) doesn't try to force a 50:50 but is more to maintain ability level. The only time I've jumped massively has been under 25 games on an account or so - I feel that as I improve currently it's a pretty moderate raise in competition, although I too am on a bit of a loss spree currently (my dotabuff), I think it's just one of those things that will even out over time.

I'm trying to learn the new top of the leaderboard - warlock to try and keep me going. I used to love hellbringer in HoN and he's similar enough (although bonds was an aoe circle rather than targeting, hard to know which I prefer. Wish bonds had hero preference, makes bonds before ult a much worse situation without it unless you do some perfect engage. I honestly can't believe undying is so low down, a decent undying can rip teams apart and in trilane you just run out of options so quickly.
