Been doing some supporting recently which is unlike me, been especially enjoying shadow demon, quite a powerful character when he gets going and great for harassing. Love his first ability, last game against an LC I kept disaspearing his duel victim then the rest of the team melted him. Had him so annoyed by the end he was wasting his duel on me whilst our PA/SF melted him and the rest of his team :D

Well down another 100mmr in one night, a constant stream of disconnecters, it feels totally unfair to lose a carry in the first 10 minutes of the game due to a DC, at which point you are forced to carry on playing even though you know you will lose eventually. The game drags on for another 45 minutes, and low and behold you cant win because you are a player down. Stupid.

If somebody DCs they should take the -MMR for the whole team and everybody else should be free to leave and find another game when you aren't going to get dragged out for an hour only to lose.

Was up to 2300 MMR now down to 2100, and it feels like the more technical issues screw me over to reduce my MMR, the more likely you are to come across retard players, like the necrophos who decided he wanted to build a blade mail as his first item, only to feed the enemy 17-3...

The idea of dc'er taking the Mr hit is a good one actually, or if not the whole thing at least 50% of yours as well as their own as you can still win as a 4 with bonus G, though it is difficult.

Doesn't take a massive stretch of the imagination to see how that'd be abused by people wanting to climb MMR. I think you just have to accept that occasionally you'll lose some MMR from abandons/throws and believe that it balances out with the occasion free win.

It'd be a fair idea for players who abandon to take an extra hit anyway, just to make it sting more.

Anyone finding when searching for a game, it takes ages for it to find a server if not looping back to game searching? Had up to 15 mins trying to find a server...

Does anyone else find that you play a game as a character you don't use much, it goes well and you think "I like this hero, why haven't I played them more?" only to play them a few more times and play badly (or at least do poorly)?

Had a great game the other day on WK. Most kills and damage done along with the least deaths of anyone on my team. With my Ulti I could just about go up against 2 or 3 of the enemies heroes and win (or at least make them back off).
Decided to try him again, horrible game...

I have a similar experience whenever I play Troll Warlord. Good game followed by at least one bad game.

Recently had a solid game on Timbersaw and want to try him again, but I have this funny feeling it won't go well...

Yea that's called Dota! lol. happens to everyone. Sometimes other heros counter other heros better than others if that makes sense. And the other team could play better together than your team. Or in my case you allways get that one player who refuses to play his role or help the team which initially ends up loosing the game. :D

At my MMR it's usually the case where everyone thinks they're the only non-n00b in the team and then the in-team arguing starts. Only had a couple of games where we've won while arguing.

You know how it goes. The Drow Ranger goes 5/2/1 during laning and now feels they can have a go at anyone with a lower KDA. Complains about lack of missing calls when they're still laning after about 16 minutes and the enemy team has started to roam in 3, 4 or 5 man groups. Drow doesn't help out top when it's 4 on 2 or 3 and then complains when nobody helps out bottom the instance they're outnumbered.

But yeah, I'm sure there are loads of factors, my lack of skill no doubt one of them!
Still annoying.

I've left the game mate, It's gone down hill over the last 6 months or so.

People disconnecting because they're losing, the higher gold rate gives them a really good advantage mostly, especially if more leave, and it still leaves a stain on your win/lose ratio.

Feeders, abandons, trolls. I had a lump of them over a week and decided that the game was making me more aggravated than I was enjoying it (which I used to very much so).

Those who say your skill should pull you out low MMR are very wrong in my own honest opinion, The game is unbalanced in terms of game trolls ruining the chances of players wanting a decent game.

I may come back in a few months, but otherwise, this game has gone to trash.

Being positive in games can actually bring them back in a lot of cases, I used to try and lead and calm people down, and it does work.

Statistically you are incorrect. Assuming you aren't a troll/feeder/abandoner then your team has 4 players that can be one of those. The enemy team has 5.

You can drag yourself up if you are good enough, if you aren't getting higher it's because you aren't good enough to be in higher MMR. It's an uncomfortable truth but it's true. I thought I was better than I was, I wasn't I got better then shot up about 600mmr in a week or two. Keep practicing and you will improve, fact.

With the above in mind I do think it is slightly distorted. You need to substantially better to drag a team up. As in I went 2.2 to 2.6, I believe I'm about a 3k player (I play with a 3.2k mate and I more than hold my own) but I won't be able to carry myself to 3k until I'm playing way better again and I can completely smash those around you. So play at 3.3-3.4 to get myself up to 3k. Just my theory :)

Ultimately though, be good and you can solo carry and improve.

Just finished a game as Bloodseeker, played well, we won pretty easily, but got completely mugged off by the Centuar on the opposition team. I ulted him him, he popped blademail and his ult and just ran round in a circle, it melted me down in about 5 seconds I was flat out dead :D:D:D

After that had an ongoing and fun vendetta with the Centuar with us good naturedly ripping each other on the general chat :)

He actually added me as a friend post game :p
