*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

I'll play with you Aedus. I'm worse than you so when you start saying I suck I will let you know :D

I was invited last night if I wanted in on the inhouse and I asked if it was for fun or semi-serious. And the invitee did joke and say it could be semi serious depending on who's on your team. So I declined.

But I do have to say when we play random games inhouse they are the most fun for me. No one is really getting the hero they want and I get to try a new one. I get how 2 heroes can swing the whole thing but hey, like Aedus says us noobs don't care if we lose so long as we had fun and learnt some new things.

I get some of you better guys might not like playing with noobs as it might not be challenging. But really and while I probably don't have a right to say this, maybe you shouldn't be playing in house games provided by the OcUK guild and maybe a more serious guild? It's rude of me to say but I would assume the OcUK guild would be for ANY OcUK player. I just think that it's a little wrong for me to be looking for games, see a OcUK one going and think "I'm not good enough to roll with these". I get that this is more of my problem but in the spirit of the OcUK community I feel like I should be welcome.

If there were some noobs who didn't give a crap I would get it. But we all want to learn. Remember the dota 2 community is pretty hostile as it is. So after I have some pub game and getting called every curse word possible, I just kinda want a laugh and hear some banter with people messing up but laughing it off.

Don't be intimidated into thinking 'I'm not good enough for these guys', Anuraj plays and has no problem at all joining and I'm sure he spends 50% of his time trying to get his elbows to touch.

If you think people are being too negative and just putting down the team just name and shame and let whoever it is sort it out, there is only one person I've had consistent complaints off pretty much every time he plays/doesn't win, so I don't think its that bad unless people aren't speaking up.

How did you know????

I'd like to make a formal complaint against Purdy for being too good at every hero in the game and should therefore be banned from all future in-houses matches in the best interest of the dota 2 newbie community.

Only exception being that he must play Meepo and Meepo only for the rest of the games.

I have plenty of heroes I'm crap at, captains mode just gives me a chance to play stuff I like :p I'll just stick to supports in CM unless got someone else big going against me on other side

The problem with that though is after enough games when he perfects the blink poof he ends up just 1v5ing the entire team :D .

I'll be more quieter (and stop the intentional jungler picking) going forwards then if would appease people. I am more unhappy that people simply don't read their abilities or are sheep to a guide, it's like fighting with one arm behind your back.

Turbo edit: The carry of my usual team plays a lot of meepo if you're bored, Match ID: 284627622

Not reading skills is a big thing, happened a few times with Anuraj/Tune and some others before, takes 1 minute to read them and get an idea what they should do as most heroes are straight forward.

EDIT: IT WAS ACTUALLY MURRAY, I RAGED

Making you be quieter wasn't even the purpose of the posts, it's just to try and get people to understand you will play with noobs, but to cut us some slack, because the in-house games are meant to be fun for everyone of all skill levels, that's the point I wanted to make.

There's nothing wrong with giving advice, or giving people a helping hand or even telling people what to do at times if you know it'll help them out. But don't expect that people will play perfectly and don't expect to win, enjoyment and having a laugh while playing should be the primary objective, winning games should be secondary.

The biggest issue is we don't use teamspeak

Pfft that's probably the biggest benefit :D

Forgot to ask but have you ran through the audio wizard on mumble to try get your mic not to pickup keyboard sounds? Theres a fair few options more in the wizard to try get your mic to only pick up the sound of your voice.

You might need to switch it to raw amplitude from input, if i remember correctly the default is signal to noise ratio and that usually is the one that causes keyboard sounds to be picked up if i remember right.
