*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

Dota just has a worse community and abandons are a common thing even once you get past the noob games, I see them every other game.

Just return to LoL mate, I've played it without ever getting abuse or having people leave, I also really enjoy that you have a specific role so no dumb ass tries to innovate from the way it should be played
 
i like dota, but abandoning should come with a huge punishment in my eyes. like not being aloud to start another for next 30 minutes.

seems you only get point in crappy game with other people who did the same that no punishment that's just teaching them its ok..


4 out of 5 games today 2+ people on my side left, (even when we was winning)

5 out of 5 games someone left on either side

Avoid playing all picked to be honest (unless you're doing ranked?)
 
I rarely get quiters its ususally only when someone is getting mega stomped that they leave.

I like league too but find dota to be superior in many ways.

Dota is a different playstyle and I like both for different reasons.
Dota is more punishing for mistakes imo.

I setup a second account to play with a friend who is new to the game. Frankly it is appalling for new players. Previously you had to go through training before you could play against other players but now you don't so there's basically no inconvenience in setting up a smurf account. Someone leaves pretty much every game. I never, ever get this when playing on my main account. I can see why new players are put off playing.
 
Maybe I got a bit unlucky, perhaps you got a bit lucky. Presumably you're quite good too so might have only taken a couple games for you to leave behind the unwashed masses. It is quite bad down there.
