Yup, weird thing is the release date is meant to be the 10th, lot of people saying it will unlock on the 9th.
Steam are usually very strict with their unlock times.System Requirements

True dat...and even if it's bad, I'll have some new (hopefully) lucky dice for warhammer leadership and explosion rolls (I ordered the BOS pack from one of the retailers as it only cost a fiver more than my original standard pre-order).

I think I'm just going to buy Duke on Steam as soon as its' released, been waiting FAR FAR too long for this game, and to wait a few more weeks/months just for the sake of saving a tenner seems mad.
Gearbox gets more money from me, but hey - Gearbox makes good games like Borderlands, and is therefore IMO infinately better than EA!
And they finished Duke. Credit MUST be given for anyone that has brought the laughing-stock vapourware of the 21st century to life

Even if DNF's gameplay isnt the best, I have complete faith in Gearbox for the next game. They've made some of my favourite games before and they clearly get the Duke style of humour from the adverts, booths and virals they've put out.
The franchise is certainly in safer hands than it could have been.

Well they bought the IP from 3d realms. I think more games depends on how DNF does.

I thought 3D Realms surrendered it up when they went under to pay off what they owed to 2K or whoever?
Either way Gearbox owns the rights to Duke outright now afaik.
