*** Official Elder Scrolls MMO Thread ***

There's a single European Megaserver. For a long time the cheapest for the imperial edition was www.nuuvem.com, using chrome and hola for vpn and translation. Some people were having trouble buying from them just before release, so they might have blocked, but worth a try, worked out about £38 I think.

I completely understand what you all mean ('wes, Sleepery & ss-89) im merely wondering if there is any "must have" skills in the templar class itself etc.

I dont want to get to the grouping stage, and get kicked out becuase i dont have skill A or B etc (which is very common in MMO's these days :( )

Now, if it truely doesnt matter what you pick, then fair enough, ill continue to mess around with various skills lol.

Is there a way to respec skills at all? if so im guessing its expensive?

Never once seen that happen in any of the groups i've been in so spec away. Yes it is expensive 100g per skill point if I remember correctly. Must have skills are very subjective! In the beta I went down Aedric spear and bow combination for my templar which I didn't end up fully enjoying whilst now I'm having a blast :D

I respecced at around level 20 for the sake of recovering 2 skill points that I put into wrong areas! Cost me 3900 I believe which was harder to swallow considering I could have written it off and waited but I was annoyed :p. However it's a lot easier to earn gold at later levels and I made it back quite easily.

I appear to have been asleep :/ what are your views? Worth a purchase? And if so where is best without VPN? Cheers

I took a hiatus from MMO's (AOC and Warhammer mostly), after being stung once too often. I came back for GW2 but I didn't enjoy it but this is the first in a long time that has me itching to get back on! That's not to say everyone will like it, undoubtedly some will hate it.

Not sure on the best place to purchase.

The missus pointed something out to me yesterday...

Have you noticed, whilst travelling around the gameworld, that you find locations where there is an empty painting and an easel just sitting there. The locations are usually quite aesthetic locations. I've found several of these now.

So she says to me that she reckons that they are for housing, that these things are already in the game ready for housing, that at some point there will be some way to use these to create a painting of the location, which you can then put as decoration in your house.

Interestingly, I also have a few items now which are tagged with the name "Trophy" , and there appears to be nothing you can do with them. Which again sort of points toward other MMOs where you have had items called trophies which have been décor items for housing.

The trophy things Tomb, I think you get when you complete the public dungeon quest (one in each zone) and they're clickable.

I know there is a stone from Bad Man Hollow in Glenumbra that gives you little wisp of light that swirls around you for about 5 seconds, and from Bonesplitter Caverns in Stormhaven you get something which puts you in a sphere which the character banks on to get out. Again just for a few seconds.

She may well be onto something though!

Yep there are a few trophies which are useable but there are also a couple which I have which aren't. For instance there is a fake ayleid crown which does nothing when used. It's entirely possible player housing will be added in an expansion, after all it has been a thing for the elder scrolls series before!. The cynic in me thinks it was originally planned for release but then taken out to be included in an expansion as a key selling point :p.

I was thinking along those lines too, the whole thing with the numerous empty painting easels that I keep finding dotted around, would work perfectly as house décor items. I do find myself wondering if housing was originally intended and certain things for housing were put in but they ran out of time to implement housing fully.

Does anyone have a good Templar leveling build? I seem to be struggling against multiple mobs atm it seems.

Templar is by far the most versatile class in game. You need to explore what suits you better.
Can be played as "Mage" with Light armour & staff (eg frost, fire), as "Rogue" with Medium armour & DW all way to "Tank" with Heavy armour and Shield.
And of course all the in between combinations are working just fine, but be careful on "glass spec" (eg Medium armour and Gsword/Gaxe/Maul).

Race wise, every race can work with it just as good.

Personally after having tested few Templar setups in beta, I am settled with my beast tank. Khajiit with full set Heavy armour, shield, mace (*), Restoring light.
Is a monster tank, very hard to break, dishes stupid amount of damage for 1h weapon thanks to the mace (i will explain), a lot of utility abilities and I just simply love him all way to the looks.

As team member, is in demand, due to the fact that I can tank pretty well, and support the healer at the same time. And still exploring my character abilities tweaking it's secondary enchantments.
(eg now I only use magicka bonus food, since 1200 HP can cut through the level 20-30 content assisted by HA & Shield).

Please note you need to spend your points wisely and not go beserk on all lines.

If you need more personal help, please pm in game.

this lag **** is really begining to get on my ******* ****! (think **** is ok :p )

(edit:guess it wasn't xD )

battling werewolves last night and even after stunning them and running, getting a good 10+ yards between us so I can cast but still taking hit damage, no DoTs on me.... just the ****s still get hits off on me. most annoying was when there were 2/3 werewolves, used the trap spell to lock them in place as they had gotten right up on me. the first initial hits took me down close to half health.... but then even though I should have been out of range... nope... they kept swinging and doing damage to me even though I was a good distance and they were still stuck...no dots, nothing being flung at me. and then ofc I died. FFS.

really enjoying this game but they have to ******* sort something out regarding this ****! it's like the battle just goes out of sync :\

This I think specialising is far better than chucking points in multiple lines. I have 90% of my points in resto light/2handed with a few dotted in aedric and restoration staff for passives a couple of skills. The rest are in crafting.

Are you on a Wifi connection? If so see my earlier post on the topic as I was suffering from lag and disconnects. If not ignore!

Any reason why this game feels juddery and not very smooth when it goes below 60fps?

At 60fps it is as smooth as butter, but once it dips below that - 55fps, 45fps - everything seems to stutter and does not glide along the screen like it does at 60.

As a result I have changed from Ultra to High settings just to maintain constant 60fps and keep that smoothness. Perhaps a driver update from AMD will allow me to run Ultra at 60fps but I thought with my specs it would anyway!

Hard to say. I'm using radeon pro & a sweet fx profile & my fps is usually below 60fps outside but I find it very smooth most of the time (7950 + 15 2500k & cat 14.3)

Yes, exactly below 60 fps. I have vsync enabled. The game still looks fantastic on high settings and I'm enjoying it. I was just concerned as to why anything below 60 fps feels so choppy.
