That's me and my little Orsimer doing a certain Mage's guild quest ;)

Great screenies Latex.

The game does look exceptional, not just for an MMO but in general. The size and scope is far beyond that of say, ARMA 3, yet it has stupid amounts of detail everywhere. Gives TERA a run for it's money, might even beat it.

First beta weekend I tried I didn't really like it.

This weekend I tried it again and gave it a chance - I did start to enjoy the PvE, so I made the decision to buy the game (a certain Brazilian link helped...)

I can agree with a lot of the negatives, but I feel this game offers something slightly different to most current MMOs (in aesthetics and feel if nothing else.)

I'm holding my hopes on PvP being good (I hated GW2 - mainly due to it's classes and F2P really puts me off.) I'll give it a couple of months to see how it goes.

I'm enjoying it so far! Yh there are plenty of flaws, floaty animations, bugs etc...but it's a beta so more than expected.

How does one get on to the full beta? Is it an invitation only closed beta?

Got my Broadband sorted last night so spent a few hours playing today.

I only got up to level 7 with a Templar but Ive really enjoyed it, a lot more than I did with Wildstar though this seemed to be more buggy.

The graphics are much better than I expected and smooth as silk. I found the combat really enjoyable too and like the way the skill system works.

My biggest niggle is the map, it doest show much and I wish was greyed out or something and cleared as you explore to show where you have already been.

I really want to order it, I just wish it wasn't so overpriced.

You can see where you've been (kind of) by mousing over the various markers on the map. If you instance, you save a village from flying butt monkeys, when you mouse over it, it will say something along the lines of 'you triumphed over the menace of the flying butt monkeys here' and the marker will be full white instead of outlined, so you know that you've been there.

It's not the best solution by any stretch and can lead to confusion (the amount of times I've wandered into places I've already been because of this is unreal) but it is entirely in keeping with the whole style of the game.

No one can accuse the devs of going half-cocked in making this their own thing instead of using other games methods when it suits them.

As for overpriced, well, samba Brasilia! ;)

I was going to ask what the Dungeons are like. I was disappointed there wasn't any group content on the starter island.

I think the starter island is literally to get you going.

As of the new patch, you can skip them now and go straight to the main land.

There you have Elite mob areas with no quests for loot and fun, you have public event group quests and that's all I've experienced outside dungeons for group content.

Even though I gave up playing due to constant freezing, I will still be making this a day 1 purchase. It feels different to the typical wow clone mmo and unique enough to keep me interested for a while. It reminds me of DAoC in many ways which is only a good think. The combat is refreshing and the skill system means I don't feel limited much in my play style.

Not sure I can hold off till the ps4 release. Might have to go down the Brazilian route and pre order.

I have to be honest I am still a bit undecided. I quite like the game it's a nice change from the general 3rd person MMO. That said the "bugs" in the weekend build still well bugged me :p I know there are the changes in the closed beta build but I really hope they do another weekend with the newer build as it would put my mind at ease a bit.

But I can't help thinking... if this was F2P or P2P I would buy it in an instant no questions. But as a subscription based game for me personally I do not feel it is currently worth £8.99 a month (after the "free" 30 days).

It has some really nice ideas and once you are off those starter islands you really do get that sense of Elder Scrolls. I think I need another weekend or some play time with the newer build before I purchase.

Although not directly the same genre Diablo 3 has really grabbed my attention again with its new patch and with RoS at the end of the month.... Too many games so little time !

Edit: oh and the Music is stupidly good as I would expect I really hope they release an OST to purchase :D
