couldn't hold on any longer took the plunge and bought the imperial edition from nuuvem.
all went very smoothly got my key instantly, sadly the account side of elder scrolls online web site is down for maintanence so cannot register my game booo!
thanks to all the people that helped with my questions.

juist to let people know the account page on the official elder scrolls online is now back up.
I have also redeemed my key from nuuvem and worked perfectly fine,it doesnt say its a imperial edition but then from reading they send out imperial codes unlocking the extras closer to release date.

It's instanced because things you do effect the world around you physically, iirc even WoW is instanced in some of the Cataclysm content. There's just no other way of doing it. Be a little silly if you ran a load of bandits out of a village, then came back and they were gone but there a load of players fighting thin air.

It's instanced because it's basically 1 server for each region. Not a fan of instancing in general but this is how it should be done if it's going to be done at all.

Not trying to nitpick here but...

Instancing is what you do when you create multiple versions of a certain area, for example a dungeon or raid.

Phasing is when you can shift in and out of different states within the game world.

So for the bandit camp example, if you clear it, its cleared. No NPC's, nothing. They might be replaced with arbitrary mobs to make the world feel less empty, but either way you wont see random people swinging in mid air. People who are at the same point as you, so if i cleared the camp too, you would see me there, but if your friend hasn't, then you wont see him until he finishes it.

The megaserver situation is another form of phasing/instancing combined. IIRC you are asked a bunch of questions upon the start, like "Do you enjoy open world PVP?", "Do you enjoy RP?" and so on, this determines the type of players you will experience within the game, rather then 1 shoe fits all. But this might have changed, so I'm not 100% on this.

ZOSs stance on Addons:

As we get closer to launch, our beta events have continued to grow in player-size, and that growth has resulted in even more and more of you taking the time to experiment with our UI modding tools. It’s exciting to see the amazing add-ons you have come up with and for us, as developers, it’s also a very important part of the beta process. Seeing what the community wants to add or change is helpful as we continue to tweak and balance the game – what are people looking for? what works? what doesn’t? Finding the right answers to these questions often means leaving the API very open during this beta phase. It helps us see where limits may or may not be and helps us determine what makes the best possible ESO experience for everyone.

We welcome creativity and have built ESO on player-choice, but as a game played with thousands of others, we also must be mindful of any mods that give clear mechanical advantages in competitive situations. Maintaining a level playing field will always be our first priority. Our intent with add-ons is to encourage you to modify your UI in a way that is more fitting for your personal play-style, but not ones that could allow you to make choices for others. We do not want those who aren’t interested in using an add-on to feel compelled to do so because they cannot remain competitive without them. As we continue beta testing, we’ll continue to evaluate add-ons and the implications they have on other players, but you can expect changes to the API before launch and will share that information as it becomes available. Thank you to all of you that have created add-ons during this time – we appreciate your help in making ESO the best it can be.

For anyone who has the weekend beta client installed, the 0.18 patch is being deployed, so you can download the update.

This is highly suggestive of a weekend beta, next weekend.

Latex posted the instructions previously. Use Chrome, get the extension called Hola go to the Nuuvem, click on the Brazil flag in the top right of Chrome (courtesy of Hola) and then use Paypal to buy.

After that check on your newly created Nuuvem account and you'll have the key ready and waiting for you. Add that key to your Bethesda/Zenimax TESO account and you'll have it registered, easy as pie. Then all you have to do is wait for Zenimax to send out the Imperial keys to their digital distribution partners and check your emails.

All for the princely sum of £38 (£40 with Paypal currency conversion costs) :)

I was one who at first didnt rate it at all. It was only after my second beta weekend and the changes that the devs have been implementing which swung me the other way.

This is pretty much my view too. I have to say I think it was mainly due to putting a bit more time into the second weekend which also helped. (Take no offense Latex :p) But Latex kept going on and on and on about it being better after the starter islands.

So second weekend I pretty much rushed as quick as I could past the first two islands and it does open up a lot more. My main gripe with the first weekend was that I was stuck to this linier line that I had to follow, now I know it’s not Skyrim but it still holds the Elder Scrolls game and I expect some of that to be in there. Escape the prison as you always do get to open area, do a 360 and run in a completely opposite direction to which the "path" leads you. Granted there are still some limitations in the current model (because it is an MMO) but you can still go explore quite a lot once you are off the mini islands.

My only gripe now is........ on release do I make a Argonian Templar healer with a 2h mace (paladin type style), a Wood Elf Nightblade with bow in hand (for some stealthy long shot kills)... the list goes on :p

That also all said, I would still very much like a play test of the new patch as that seems to have "fixed" a huge amount of bugs and issues I had with the game.

Do you even need a vpn to buy it? I've gotten a few games off there from my own ip.

Nope you don't need a VPN. Just use Hola (Chrome extension). It's easy to do, even if it is in Portugese, standard pictures for shopping cart, paypal etc.

Last time I went in this thread everyone stated it was a flop when the first beta began. But I read the last few pages and people seem to like it. Why is that then, is it because the devs are making some changes or is the game a bit more fun when you get to higher levels?

I was one of the people slating it after the first beta weekend. However I played the 3rd one and thoroughly enjoyed it and immediately purchased the Imperial edition.

I also had chance to try Wildstar yesterday. The interface is absolutely terrible. There is next to no voice acting (I know it's closed beta). Things kept popping up in different places all over the screen. It felt like they had just taken things too far with the horrible purple "LEVEL UP" text and sound that pops out. Definitely not a game for me, at least not in it's current form, so I am hoping elder scrolls online will be good upon release.

I don't even use that, just literally open the website and buy like I would anywhere else. Not sure if it's tinfoil hat brigade or whether TESO is different and they don't allow anybody outside of Brasil to grab a copy.
