*** Official Elder Scrolls MMO Thread ***

I'd love you to prove your blatant troll. But considering your lying, you will just continue to dodge the proof question and continue down the name calling of me and claiming proof isn't needed. I think you need to go on ignore with newbie, you seem almost as ridiculous as each other. Hate a game, hate devs, stick around in thread to troll the game.

Doesn't sound like trolling tbh. Anyway I'm sure it will be fixed if the community has flagged it up and zeni have said so per your previous post.

This is why I think its a troll. Because I stated this morning that ZOS is closing off most of the API for release and yet here he pops with no proof claiming cheating is rampant.

I've been following a lot of forums and websites and I've never seen one mention of bots or hacks. Even from ownedcore.

I assume locking down the api must be in response to something so what he says may be true. Anyway pre ordered my imperial edition copy through nuveem yesterday. Had enough fun on the beta weekend to convince me.

Seems like bots have already found their way into PvP, albeit via external scripting software. Hope ZO do something about that, as PvP with bots is just ...pointless.

People are botting - what more evidence do you need?

My 2 quotes above. Please point out anywhere in those where I claimed it to be rampant? I said it was happening, that is all. If ZO are closing off their API then that's fair enough but that's going to break an awful lot of mods. Also, I can't give out any "proof" for obvious reasons. Please google prx guild to see what kind of guild they are and how involved in closed beta testing of MMO's they've been.

The API was left wide open on purpose, they are just closing it off to the level they are happy with. Again as stated in my post this morning.

Im not being elitist or anything but tbh anyone botting in PVP is going to get wtfpwnd by anyone who was half decent at DAOC PVP, sorry but WoW PVP was always a joke, always, and always will be a joke.

Only games PVP that ever was done correctly was DAOC, WAR came close somewhat but was still a mile off.

I played DAOC hardcore for 3+ years, i loved that game, the PVP was immense, openworld RVR, keep sieges, DF hunting, Relic Raids etc all were brilliant. If ZO can capture that into this game they will keep my money for many years to come, im pretty sure anyone who was a DAOC fan feels the same too.

Hib Excal for anyone wondering ;) Ranger was my primary, NS backup and Mana Eld or Bard my group PVP toons

I went back a couple of years ago to that Ywain is it now? the merge of all servers? rolled up some Albs and some Mids, wasnt the same though :( Vampir was fun but a bit OP, everyone seemed to be living in that Lab place running in stealth zergs or just zergs in general or ganking ML10 raids lol

I fully agree. Have you tried the Genesis server at all? It's as close to old DAoC as you can currently get.

Is it much larger than gw2 pvp?

I thought it was physically larger but the players in an area was limited somewhat? Just interested as if it goes f2p I would give it a go for good pvp.

The pvp area is far far larger than GW2s WvW. Its not anywhere near as large as Daocs still, but its still very large. The number of players in the ESO pvp lands is also far larger than GW2s.

Do you have/is there something that directly compares the two?

Also, what is the point of the pvp? Does it build rep for titles? To get gear? What's the goal?

I would forgive a lot of my complaints about this game if the pvp is very good.

It doesn't really give facts that's just a games promotional push.

Is there anything that just straight up holds the two against each other. It said something about battlegrounds, just bad language or is the main pvp sectioned off into smaller segments?

I'm cooking at the moment so i'm coming back and forth, but hopefully someone might find a better explanation.

Still looking my self.

I haven't got a comparison map, but I can sort of explain the differences in size, remember how in GW2 WvW you could run from one keep/tower to the next closest one in about 30 secs? Where the map was all compact and everything was close together, you could cross from one side of the GW2 WvW map to the other in a few minutes?

Well remember how in Daoc the frontiers were so large (something like 20 odd zones in size originally) that it took you 15 minutes to run from one keep/tower to the next closest one and took ages and ages to cross from one side of the Daoc RvR map to the other?

Well, ESO is sort of in between that, it takes several minutes to run from one keep/tower to the next closest one and a considerable length of time to cross the entire PvP map.

Im not sure how much larger it is than GW2 WvW map, maybe 10 times larger even. Its maybe a third of the size of Daocs, or a half.
