Can anyone recommend some good beginner reading material, real idiots guide.
Would prefer a book or e-book, gives me something to pass the time with on the train.

Need some help here

Im modifying the flight box I use for flying my rc heli and planes. I want too add a charge port, status led to show it's charging and then the power switch is on as well a voltage meter

The adding of the power switch and led is no issue, along with the voltage meter. I've tested this setup and it works.

Charge port is easy, the switch kills anything from it and the charge port connects directly too the batter

It's the status led for showing its on charge. Can I stick this within the line on the + side and the -on the led into the + so it's fully inline? It's a 10mm led

I'm starting my first simple project of a star map of the gfs star sign

I will take pics of progress

Parts include
Frame
Foam board
Leds
Led lamp
Fibre optic tree core
Wire transformer
Ir remote and control.
Resistors

I'm starting small

Depends how the charger is setup/designed. Most will have a controller chip with some sort of status line, and you could wire the LED into that. I'd refrain from putting anything on the output unless you absolutely have to.

Here's my latest build.

It's an audio frequency sine wave generator. It's based on the wein bridge ocillator and uses a little 12v lamp to produce a low distortion sine wave. On the left is a regulated bipolar split supply from a single DC source. The Opamp I used is a TL074. The circuit is built on a bit of copper clad and the chip is mounted on a bit of stripboard, as is the junction point for the dual pot. I could probably tidy things up and use less tape.

The metalwork is from a temperature sensor thingy I harvested for parts.

Here's an example of it's output. Looks so much better than the ICL8038 I breadboarded a couple of weeks ago.

It's good for 100Hz up to 25 Odd KHz, way beyond what I can hear anyway. It wobbles a bit as you change the frequency but that's to be expected I suppose.

I hooked it up to my audio amp and tested the output and recorded a short video. No idea why. I did notice the wave seems offset a touch at low frequencies but that's corrected at higher frequencies. I'm guessing that's the high pass filter in effect on the amplifier or something. Don't know much about shaping and changing audio.

Maybe for my next project I will actually do something that looks half tidy.

Hi all,

Much ealier in this thread i posted a picture of my Wordclock, which i'll post below. But i thought i'd post again to get some feedback on my first useful Youtube video, which is looking at the Wordclocks in more detail and a build log of the latest version of the clock which i have been sent from the maker of the Wordclock i have.

Please let me no what you think, and how i can improve my videos or if there is anything you'd like to see. Also please take a look at the makers website, Doug's Wordclocks

Hey guys,

Looking for some help if people would be kind enough to offer it.

I'm looking at fitting aux-in to my car and someone appears to have done it as a retro fit, see here - http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21434

So looking at what he bought I managed to figure it out and stick it in a cart on Radio shack.

Links to each of the parts can be found here, here, here and finally, here

I'm looking for someone to be able to show me where I can get the above in the UK please? :)

Thanks,
Jake

Bump for this question again.
Got to drive my brother to the hospital on Friday so he can have a wisdom tooth removed, could do with something to read while I'm waiting.
