Oh! Lol, and what about the bulbs for the : between the digits?
Hi David,
Many thanks for your enquiry.
The IN-8-2 tubes are quite rare and hard to find at the moment. I did have a single kit become available, as a customer for whom I had been holding some IN-8-2 tubes changed his mind. It sold within a few hours (as you have seen!) Whilst I do have a limited number of these tubes, I like to keep them as spares for past customers.
The IN-14 tube has an equally large (18mm) digit height. The tube is also taller which gives it more impact. It also has a plastic spacer at its base which makes soldering easier as the heat is further from the glass to metal seal.
This kit with tubes is available at £69.95. The tubes are a lot more freely available, so spares won’t ever be an issue.
Also to consider is the Z570M kit. These tubes have a 13mm digit height, but the tubes are very high quality European production.
The PCB layouts, circuit, and controller software is all designed and developed in-house. The PCBs are manufactured for us in Shenzhen in China – the powerhouse of the global electronics industry.
If you have any further questions, I should be happy to answer them.
Regards
Pete
