*** Official Fallout 4 - No Spoilers Allowed ***

Have to say........

I'm not enjoying it really at all so far :(

The interface is so clunky, I loved Fallout 3 but it just feels like it needed to be refreshed in this day and age. Whoever decided to make the default button for the Pipboy on 'O' needs a slap. I hate the way you build up tonnes of junk and other items in your inventory and there's no easy way of managing it or comparing items. Also, it doesn't tell you sometimes if you can combine armour, for a while I was walking around pretty much butt naked with nothing but arm and leg guards on because it wasn't clear when I could wear something underneath or not.

The framerate drops on the PS4 aren't too bad but they do happen, especially indoors during gun fights.

I don't know...:( I'm six hours in and nothing has really opened up yet. I've encountered no side quests despite exploring a lot of the map. Stuff I'm finding all just seems a bit pointless at the moment, just random buildings with no purpose other than to break up the emptiness, I swear with Fallout 3 there were a lot more NPC's at these locations offering quests or stuff to buy

Most fun part was something I'd class as a spoiler - Davey

The inventory definitely needs a spruce up, items should be classed into useful and not so you know what to keep. The armor thing really bugs me, i want an easy way when i see some lying on the ground to see if its better than what i have so i know weather or not to pick it up, same with weapons.

The inventory management was fine 7 years ago, it's god awful today and how they haven't put any time in to updating is beyond me. It's a bloody joke

I must have 1000000 pairs of long johns because there's no easy way of seeing if stuff is worth picking up on a corpse so I just loot everything and then worry about it when I'm carrying too much weight

Also, anyone noticed the dog is absolutely terrible? Can you bin him off?

I'm sick of wasting stim packs on him. He runs away from mole rats or rarely attacks them, yet he'll see a raider with a bloody minigun and decide to try and hump his leg. Ridiculous

Ok cool :)

I'm definitely going to stick with it in the hope it picks up, but the inventory management is just really bogging me down as it's always there and I can't enjoy it. The only alternative is just not to pick anything up other than guns or armour, but then you miss out on being able to do the crafting stuff

Think I am going to have a good look through the perks and restart this. The character I created was rushed just so I could get into the game and I didn't quite get how the perks/levelling system worked.

I'm enjoying this but tbh it feels like a remaster of an old game rather than a new game in the series. It plays like a 5 year old game which tbh is what I wanted but after playing games like the Witcher it feels very dated now. The Pip Boy is just bloody awful to use its a mess and gives very little information.

It's still a great game but it could have been so much better. Fallout 3 is one of my all time favourites but im not feeling the love as much with 4 it just feels a bit "Old".

I think this sums it up perfectly for me

Think i will start again tonight, have a rough idea what i went to spend my points on now.
Have to remember to make a proper save just short of leaving the vault before the last chance to change your character.

Playing it on normal first time around and some bits are proper nails, good fun though and i'm really really liking it.

Graphics look pretty good as well, little bit of fps drops here and there but otherwise it's good.

Wheres the difficulty setting?

I don't think I got a choice when I started new game, not far in but so far loving it, won't get much time to play though until weekend and I can see this taking up a lot of my time, Its brilliant!!

Guys moaning about inventory, have you actually looked properly?

There is a function in your workbench so you can highlight (with a magnifying glass symbol) the items/mats that are relevant to what you need.

And also, on corpses dropping armour and weapons there is a information making uses of "+++" and "---" on stats to show if it's better or not..... How are you missing these things?

Well that's not very clear is it? Better than what? What I have on or better than other crap I've picked up a long the way

And that workbench one isn't a good solution at all. So I might drop a load of stuff that's not relevant to a chemistry workbench then realise I've got nothing for a gun workbench? Great...

Better/worse than you are currently using.

Workbench, I just store absolutely everything in my main red workbench in sanctuary and the items are auto used across all benches whether it is armor/weapon etc.

OK a few questions from a Fallout newbie:

1) I pretty much pick up everything and end up carrying too much so I can't run. When I look in the inventory there's a lot of "Junk", is junk actually junk or can you do something with it?
2) Are you supposed to use the Heavy Armour (mech thing) all the time or only for specific things?
3) Are there banks or places to store all the stuff you collect

I played it a bit last night and thought it was OK but then got fed up with the whole carrying too much thing. I'll give more time tonight but the game itself seems pretty dated, I played Fallout New Vegas quickly the other night and well this feels the same.
