*** Official Fallout 4 - No Spoilers Allowed ***

The game really wants you to collect everything you possibly can. I just collect everything then fast travel back and chuck it all in the workbench and sort it out when I can be bothered. There is an option to dump all junk to workbench or something.

1) I pretty much pick up everything and end up carrying too much so I can't run. When I look in the inventory there's a lot of "Junk", is junk actually junk or can you do something with it?
2) Are you supposed to use the Heavy Armour (mech thing) all the time or only for specific things?
3) Are there banks or places to store all the stuff you collect.

For questions 1 and 3, see my posts and the replies above :)

About 2, my Fusion Core ran out on my power suit so I just ditched it. I'm assuming I'll get another one soon? I hope so...or are you meant to keep that one all the time? lol

I blame this game for how tired i am, last i checked last night it was 11pm when i decided i needed to go asleep thinking it was midnight it was in fact 2:30am. I then needed to get up at 5am for work, so now i am paying the price....! :(

OK a few questions from a Fallout newbie:

I played it a bit last night and thought it was OK but then got fed up with the whole carrying too much thing. I'll give more time tonight but the game itself seems pretty dated, I played Fallout New Vegas quickly the other night and well this feels the same.

Some junk can be crafted into items most of it you can just salvage as scrap it depends what you are trying to craft.

Save the heavy armour for harder encounters or it will get destroyed and run out of power. You then have to dump it and find parts to fix or power cores which can be a pain. Find locations and scout them out if it's hard then fast travel back and get the armour.

Store things in the workbench. Remember your companion can carry stuff as well.

You can pick up new/different bits but not sure you find whole new suits. You need to go find another fusion cell to power it.

I have been exploring on foot, if any bits look hard going back and putting on the suit to clear an area then returning it to sanctuary workshop.

Oki doki, that makes some sense if I can remember where work benches are :)

I didn't realise the companion could carry stuff, cheers

Hmmm I might start doing that then if you can just transfer everything across and use it when needed

No wonder you are getting annoyed man, if the game forced you to do it the way you are, people wuold be losing the plot! :p

Fill your bag, fast travel back, go to main workbench and hit the "transfer ALL junk" = job done. Your mats are accessible from all the benches

I got the game installed and playing at 11am yesterday. Had the day off work yesterday so that was cool and started working at 0800 this morning.... I have 19 hours played time.

Math that. I am dying today :( Total idiot move.

:o oops! :p

I'm still not that happy with the armour sorting. Although I might just dump everything I have on me tonight and only pick up stuff with a + next to it in future. No point carrying stuff if you're not using it I suppose

Seriously, the inventory management is stuff of nightmares for a guy with OCD like me

I suffer from OCD, believe me, I understand. But I have developed a system of bag filing, questing and disenchanting to satisfy my stupid brains little tick boxes.... :D

Also, once at say level 10 onwards you will be disregarding 90% of the armour drops as you will only be wanting to pick up stuff that already has mods on it, and you can quickly ID those by their name. Same with guns :)
