*** Official Fallout 4 - No Spoilers Allowed ***

How do I find my companion? I haven't seen Dogmeat in a while, but not sure where he has gone

Probably back in Sanctuary. Look behind every house, there are like 4 different dog houses around, and it may be in anyone.

Unless you've sent him else where.

I also got a glitch when I did the main mission part way following dog meat to some Fort. When it got there, he just sat there and never went anywhere with me till I completed that mission.

I'm level 24 and about 26 hours in I think, I'm still enjoying it but my initial interest has subsided a little bit. Not sure why.

Hell, if I make it that far in, I'll have done well already. Really struggle to keep at it with some games, GTA, TLOU and this are the only recent ones to do it. Gave up on need for speed within a week and Tomb Raider isn't here on ps4. Rainbow Six is no good as I don't do multiplayer so I hope Wildlands is good.

Only a few games get me playing for over 15-20+ hours so far Bloodborne, Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 i've done well over that. I guess you either just feel it or you don't, I enjoyed this so much that i Platinumed it and i never do that reallyonly other one i had is from Rocket League and that just came without trying.

I've put about 15 hours into Fallout so far, I accidentally annoyed the BoS which I'm kind of gutted about but it's no big deal as I'll just do another playthrough later in time.

Same for me...

That's is the main problem when you play too much fallout. I think personally companion and story wise fallout 3 is the better game. Even though fallout 4 offers better game play., it doesn't really offer much over the previous games.

I am still loving this game hugely but it doesn't have the same impact that fallout 3 did.

First ever Fallout game and I've got a quick question.

I'm about 4 hours in and just messing with creating/modding stuff and you need steel/wood etc to craft items.

How do I turn my junk into scrape to allow me to build new stuff ?

I can turn my weapons to scrap on the weapon bench but I've got loads of junk in my pip boy listed and want to scrap it all to build better stuff.

Hope that makes sense thanks.

If you go to your tool bench there will be an option to transfer all scrap. Once you have done this it will be available for crafting.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but I found out this week that playing Fallout 4 via remote play on the vita has a well thought out custom control scheme. Works very well.

I believe that there is an issue with the workbench at the moment and they way it scraps items. I think that if I have an item stored that breaks down into screws and gears, and I build something that only needs the gears, i lose the screws as the workbench doesn't scrap the item first.

So now I take all of the junk and drop it on the floor. I then go into workshop mode and scrap all of the items on the floor. It takes a few minutes but I then get to store all of the materials.

Ideally, we would have a scrap all junk button in the workshop.

I read about this just after release but there are various conflicting pieces around on it. It just seems to me that I am getting more materials this way.

Yeah it's true but i fill to capacity with junk so i'm borderline getting RSI in having the scrap each item from the floor one by one, takes hundreds of button presses. Should have been a better way tbh.

Wait, what?
I always thought if the item is scrapped e.g. during a Gun Mod, whatever remaining materials is stored?

That's why if I scrap something for gears, my screw count do not drop just because the item that contains both was scrapped for 1 item. (Xbox One version).

I'm going to complete the main story now, been underwhelmed from the randomly encountered quests so far. After that I'll look up the best side quests online and seek them out. Lv31.

Best way i found to scrap stuff is to throw it all on the ground then go to your workbench, move to the items you just put on the floor and scrap them manually.

35 hours in and considering calling it quits, there is so little that has improved since FO3 and the ancient engine really does diminish the experience.

Pretty much every enemy, texture and most of the quests are just pulled from previous games and having clocked FO3 and NV, it really is hard to summon up much enthusiasm for what feels like an expansion rather than a new game.

VATS, lockpicking, hacking, etc are identical to last gen and the average performance is really shoddy considering it's not exactly a looker.

The settlement stuff is a chore, I want interesting quests but feel like I am playing a junk management sim with woeful AI and terrible UI getting in the way. The main story isn't as good as FO3 either and the characters aren't as interesting.

Power Armor sounds cool but it doesn't actually add anything to the game, in fact the only part that really adds something is being able to mod weapons and armor which would have been much better if you had to find the upgrades rather than just being locked behind perks.

Probably the biggest disappointment of the year for me, not because it's terrible but just because I was hoping for so much more :(
