The graphics on the PC are amazing, had to stop myself playing now to go get sleep or I'll be up all night playing it. :D

Holy **** what a game. Love it already and I've only just found the dog. Just wandering around looking at stuff. Graphics with a decent powerful PC are jiztastic

Roll on Wednesday and a day off work to play it for 12 hours straight
 
I love the Bethesda Fallout series but gfx are pretty poor maxed out @ 4K it looks slightly better than Fallout 3/NV & they are how old!

Bethesda are really taking the mick here its not like they did not make 100s millions out of previous games on this game engine yet they continue to produce modern games on it :rolleyes:

Even with high res textures at some time the game lighting engine is not good enough it looks exactly what it is DX9 forcing some fake DX11 shader FX :(
 
Well 6 hours played, time has flown with it :eek:

Love it so far with lots of the little tweaks they have made. Not played too much of the story, well basically none but some of the side quests have been pretty great.

Graphics wise, while not the best, its nothing terrible and does not detract from the game play except in a few instances, such as faces, however it does seem to take allot of brute force considering the quality.

Had about 2-3 crash's through 6 hours of play, so not the biggest of issues as it fires up within a couple of mins again.

Mine was locked at 20 :/

Something to do with Freesync apparently.
 
Sorted it :) happy happy. Turned out my driver did not install properly and basically bodged the VRAM up to reading a solid 4million odd usage lol. Now with all settings on a mix of high-ultra acheiving around 120fps 1440p. Some cases drops to around 90. Just have to wait for an SLI profile to be able to max out the settings :).

Nice and smooth now anyway :). I agree about the graphics. They are nothing special but they are not bad. I expected better as it is a AAA title and the graphics are somewhat like fallout 3 but meh not really bothered.

But saying that Love the gameplay so far so not going to complain and comeback and enjoy some gameplay in the morning :).

Game is also using low VRAM aswell at 1.7gb for me.

I'm doing the when freedom calls quest

I need to talk to that preston dude, but he just shoots me with his lazer canyon? I've even watched a youtube video for that quest, and in the video, he just walks into the room and talks to the guy, but when I do that, preston and his team all start shooting me, and if I "kill" them, they get back up 5 seconds later?

What am I missing?
 
It sounds like you have perhaps shot him by accident and they have turned against you? Do you have any older saves that you can load and try again?

I've done it like 20 times :(

I have auto saves, I shot a load of people around that bulding before I went in, perhaps one of those people is somone I'm not meant to shoot? even so, you wouldnt expect it to break the game...
 
Anyone on windows 10, latest drivers and a 980ti not having issues with the menu?

I can't seem to whittle down the cause of the problem.

Hmm, 5 files failed to validate and will be reacquired. When on earth did that happen..

I'm running that res. Does the following not work at all then?

C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\my games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.ini

Find the following 4 lines and set up like so:

bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=1
iSize H=1080
iSize W=2560

Edit: Finally!! Validating the files helped, main menu, mouse all works, thank god.

Ciggy time I think then ill play for a hour before bed.
