**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

2 hours in loving it tbh, Shame every-time i sit to a computer i get stuck in the world and can't move :( and i keep forgetting to quicksave prior to doing it dang it! :(

But other then that no other issues and the feel of the game is spot on.

I'm running that res. Does the following not work at all then?

C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\my games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.ini

Find the following 4 lines and set up like so:

bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=1
iSize H=1080
iSize W=2560

Tried that Archeum but thanks anyway :) I got the same info from here - http://www.gamepur.com/guide/21111-...fps-add-add-219-support-change-fov-mouse.html

Tried Bethesda's official forums but nothing there either.

The launcher automatically sets me to ultra but the resolution tab goes white and nothing you can pick in it. switched to low settings and stays the same. closing the launcher brings it back showing 800x600 and entring the game with any other resolution skews the screen with a good part of it missing as if it's been slid over to one side so you only see so much.

checked properties on it on steam and under beta opted in to it, that just installed so gave it a try. same result.

Going to try a few more things before sloping off to bed but gutted that once again I bought a game borked on release. more fool me :)

780Ti at 1440p performing admirably with most stuff on ultra and the rest on high. Little stuttering here and there but rest of the time it's smooth.

No crashes or glitches in 2 hour's game play, are we sure this is a Bethesda game? :D

I do get the impression that they've toned this down massively to widen the appeal to a great audience, they seem to have struck a balance quite well but having played NV yesterday night some areas do feel like a proper dumbing down. That said what it lacks in "hardcore" Fallout, it more than makes up for as a shooter with good strong yet accessible RPG elements, can see this being a very enjoyable game that's been well worth the wait.

Well i said id play for 30 minutes before bed. That was at 12 lol. Loving it so far :).

Little stuttering on occasion but other than that running very well.

currently set everything to high, godray to low and AA to FXAA. single card running between 90-144fps 1440p. SLI profile should see max settings at 144hz hopefully :). one thing i have noticed is normally I dont really feel the 120hz-144hz but especially on this game it seems to feel quite a bit smoother at 144hz than it does on 120.

Gfx are bad I mean something is clearly wrong with the default gamma settings but it looks so poor. I hope it can be modded its so bad right now it takes you out of the game experience.

Bethesda really stretched this game engine too far the dated appearance is very noticeable :(

Played it for around 4 hours I think now and loving it. I've not seen any performance issues so far running on high; Not had massive battles yet. Win7, i7 920, 6gb mem and a 970.

However, the control scheme and UI feel very limited and "designed for consoles". Definitely looking forwards to inventory / crafting mods.

Its not a bug, It does not support widescreen natively. A small tweak in the files works. You need to run the game once. Then find the following file: Fallout4Prefs.ini in

C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\my games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.ini

Find the following 4 lines and set up like so:

bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=1
iSize H=1080
iSize W=2560

I edited the Fallout4Prefs.ini file and my game is still opening in window mode? Any suggestions? Why isn't there any video settings in the main menu? HELP! I can't start my most anticipated game of this year in windows mode! LOL

Enjoying it so far. Graphics arnt too bad. Some places look really nice and it has a great atmosphere.
The only downside at the moment is I wish crossfire worked as I'm getting around 30-40 fps on the outside parts which would be around 60 with crossfire.

Completely agree mate, great performance here too on a 970

And yea i have given in and just started using a controller as it feels really complicated on kb/m, not that controller is much easier :) i intend on using this with steam link too so may aswell use a controller from the get go

Great start, love the mechanics of the crafting, basically everything is useful and can easily craft something, so smooth how it works. Like the way the dialog works, good main character acting which is a nice change from Witcher 3.

My fiddling around is done for the night, tomorrow some proper action!

Graphics are great, exceeded my expectations, great sound too.

Swell game so far.

I think it's because the game needs serious attention to the engine, turn fraps off and you'll be fine.

It sounds like you either need an eye test, or you've got a really bad memory. Maybe you're just talking smack for the sake of it?

But you've got to be living in pretend land if you think it only looks slightly better than fallout 3...

So have you guys found any nice weapons??

I found a great 45 magnum in one of the vaults already fully mod'd

I've found a focused Institute rifle, and a fat man.

What framerates are you getting? If it's a steady 60fps most of the time I may consider picking this up earlier than intended
