**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Yeah that is exactly what I thought... You had to work your ass off for Power Armour in previous games!

Level Up!!!

Level Up!!!

POWER ARMOR UPGRADE UNLOCKED!!!

SUPER POWER MINIGUN PERK ACQUIRED!!!

YOU ARE AWESOME - YOUR GAMING PROWESS KNOWS NO BOUNDS!!!

Wow!... that was an impressive first minute of the game

- Fallout for the CoD generation

Had a horrific time with this last night.

I run 980 SLi and an ultra wide screen.

It detected ultra but would only run in a window. Option to untick windowed mode was greyed out.

Eventually managed to configure using the ini. Had to manually set resolution, turn vsync off and disable the horrific mouse acceleration.

Having worked with bethesda in the past their terrible QA process has not improved.

Had my first nvidia driver crash since i built my PC a year ago also.

Got some weird bugs were the game gets stuck when interacting with things such as locks and terminals. Have to revert to last save as the game does not crash just gets stuck.

Quite liking the content itself however.

Anyone know how I can get the option of 1920x1080 in the resolution options? My monitor is 1920x1200 and the game will only let me select smaller 16:10 resolutions (like 1680x1050)... or did I miss an aspect ratio setting somewhere?

Will the resolution setting in the config files let me force it to 1920x1080?

(I know this seems lazy asking but am at work and trying to minimize setup time when I get home later!)

Nope, seems 21:9 was also missed as well, and no fullscreen mode either.

Nvidia TAA seems to make the game quite blurry but disabling it increases FPS a lot @ 4K but also causes the shimmering to return as well!

You can edit the .ini file, thats what I did to get 3440x1440 res.

The file is in mydocuments/my games/fallout4/
It is Fallout4Prefs.ini

You need to edit:
bFull Screen=1
iSize H=1440
iSize W=3440

(of course to the res you want)

Fallout4prefs.ini in your My Games folder

iSize H=XXXX
iSize W=YYYY

Edit: Beaten to it :/

Anyone else not been able to read the long messages on terminals? I've noticed it a couple times now where it's only let me scroll down a couple lines and the test just stops.

The last log entry on the museum terminal, I can scroll down a couple lines but it just stops with: "But if you try to " No further text and no indication that it's because the person stopped typing.

Edit: And just worked it out. You have to hit return to get the next page of text. There are some basic functions / notifications that are missing from the UI, like a page count on terminals, or 'cont...' etc.

I'm so confused about the building side of things. I didn't get any tutorial or anything for building?
I too am baffled.

Came home for lunch for a tinker and the most I can do is scrap weapons/armour. I have a broken left T-35 arm and clueless how to fix it.

On another note, the sweetfx looks great. It does diffuse the faces a little, but some shininess persists.
