**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

For me settlements would be much better if there were decent attacks against them. They seem rather pointless to be honest. I'm hoping the modding community can come up with something to make them a bit more exciting.

I was doing some inventory management earlier and heard some commotion outside and there was a group of supermutants attacking including a legendary one that one shotted me :( Might as well not have a big front gate though all the settlers just charge outside the camp lol. Be interesting to know if they scale in any way or it's complete random.

Meant where do u insert it into the ini in which section?

Under the general tab...so it looks like:

[General]
sLanguage=en
uGridsToLoad=5
uExterior Cell Buffer=36
bDisableAllGore=0
iNumHWThreads=12

This is in the conf that just says "Fallout4" not the "custom" or "prefs" config files.

I've been thinking. A while back, Bethesda said they would release some free content updates similar to how they did with Skyrim, so what would we all like to see? I've thought of a few, though none are really gameplay additions-

- The ability to send companions back to their original place.(Baffling you can't do it already!)
- Upgrades for the house in Diamond City similar to FO3 where you can choose themes.
- Special prefabs in the settlement menu, for example ready-made bars and houses
- Walk speed needs adjusting imo. I am one of those players that occasionally like to walk and I can't find the right speed.
- Killmoves for mele weapons, maybe tied to perks(throat slit for sneaky characters for example).
- Of course I would like hardcore mode back, but this is Bethesda so it isn't going to happen:(
- For God's sake, show holstered weapons. It is just ridiculous as it is.

Also, not sure if you can do this already and I just haven't yet, but can you actually buy weapon/armour mods?...Feels like I am wasting perk points just to get a silencer for my sneaky character.

2 hours in...this game is going to bring out the worst in the kleptomaniac in me...least in old NV is mostly worth nothing, now pretty much everything has a use?? I'm so screwed.

For me it's mostly little things

  • Show companion inventory weight limit
  • Show settler assignments (even just renaming them Farmer/Guard would do)
  • Some form of optional grid structure in settlements so it's easier to align stuff with existing buildings
  • Allow structures to clip so you can make them look completely flush, especially stuff like fences, and/OR
  • A fence/wall feature where you put down a fence/wall post, put down a second one and then connect them like you do power wires and the wall or the fence auto completes. Would solve the stupid looking fences and make creating settlement walls so much easier and less hassle
  • Search function for inventory

Just for people using Sli I got it working using this tweak the other fix's people have been saying didn't work for me but this has.

Using Nvidia inspector go to fallout 4 if you are using lastest driver.
Change Sli compatibility bit (DX1x) to 0x080202F5 (Batman : Arkham city)

Then in the Nvidia control panel add a profile for fallout 4 then change sli rendering mode to : Force alternate frame rendering 2

Getting a solid 60 fps at 3440x1440 now were I was get huge fps drop before :) now I can real run this weekend
