**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Settlement building would be much better if there were some bigger prefab buildings. I'd like to create a nice settlement, but it is tedious placing every wall etc especially with the interface we have to work with.

For me settlements would be much better if there were decent attacks against them. They seem rather pointless to be honest. I'm hoping the modding community can come up with something to make them a bit more exciting.

One of the best improvements in the game is the feral ghouls. They are now pretty terrifying, more dangerous and the way they move is really creepy especially when they rush you!

Was moaning in this thread earlier about the story. 10 hrs in and I take it back. Shouldn't have been so premature.

Story has ramped up 100% Just took a while to get there.

Not sure if its a placebo....but after adding:

iNumHWThreads=12

Into the Fallout ini, so that all my 12 threads are being used, the game seems to be running a lot smoother for me and no FPS drops.

Oh a little tip for people that I don't know if it's been posted yet.

In the cooking station there is a recipe under utility for Vegetable Starch. It requires 3 Corn, 3 Mutfruit, 3 Tato and 1 Purified water. It breaks down into 5 adhesive, which if you've been modifying your armor and weapons is incredibly rare. This is completely unlimited too once you have a farm setup somewhere for the 3 plants and a few industrial water purifiers set up somewhere which generate purified water.

Which cooking station is that?

Thats the one! Looks stunning

I did the same (well, only 8 threads here :( but still) and at the same time turned off the frame cap but added the frame locking option from Skyrim... I'm pretty sure it's not my imagination everything feels much less jittery

Contemplating turning DOF off compeltely - I think it looks good in dialogues and in VATS but does anyone else notice it sort of makes everything sporadically a bit fuzzy/jittery - it reminds me of the Dynavision DOF mod which I also ended up not liking

A Glaswegian moaning about something?! I refuse to believe this has ever happened :D ;)

Going to restart my game, I'm not a massive fan of the guys voice so will give the woman a chance. Plus I think I may have been a little OTT in giving my char 10 int and 8 char but only 1 str and 1 ind :D

Agree.....after adding that, I've been watching the FPS counter and it isn't budging from locked 60fps and no jitters as you say.

I'd recommend this setting to anyone with HT.

Edit: and I'm getting 98% CPU utilisation!!!! wtf lol

Aside from feeling like a heavily modded Skyrim and the dialogue being extremely dull I'm quite enjoying the game so far.

I'd prefer a bit more direction at the start of the game though rather than wandering off towards a quest, struggling to get there then finding out I'll need to come back as I'm still too low level and don't have enough bullets :(

yup noticed the same woot

Wait, what?!

I've not seen a vertibird crash at all!

After a while in the game after progressing some quest, not sure which ones, you will start seeing vertibirds flying all over the map dropping off troops and arttacking super mutant settlements... They can't stay in the air though. I've seen probably 30 or so crash.

Friend of a friend told me his settlement was attacked by a load of ghouls. He's likely about 300 hours in though.
