**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Cool. I very rarely buy from key sites, but the prices of new games now on PC is forcing me to have to. Will take a chance on G2play later on.

I wish it wasn't so far off, I want to explore the new wasteland :(. Guess it gives me time to finish new vegas.

Just got my e-mail from GAME with a link to the Vault Club which is just a Facebook group.

This is a bit of an issue because I'm a total Fallout nerd and I don't want my friends, family and work colleagues knowing how obsessed I am :)

GAME have confirmed that the first 10k orders will get the t-shirt, but haven't yet explained how many orders they have had and where in the queue you are. I ordered on the first day so should be safe, but would be worried if I only placed my order today.

It looks like it's a private group, none of your activity in the group will be shared with your Facebook friends unless they're in the group too.

It says "public group" at the top of the page. Not sure if they have to accept me as a member before it goes private?

For me there was a certain charm about the clunkyness of the combat in the game in fallout 3. New vegas improved on this without breaking it. Watching the videos in the first post has concerned me a little bit. The flying power armour with a minigun that you can fire in the air just seems wildly out of kilter with the fallout universe.

I think that was a show-off thing and would expect to see that stuff as end-game items. In FO3/NV you might have been lucky to find a minigun or power armour early game but wouldn't be skilled or strong enough to use it with any effect.

I really like the initial days of Fallout games, starting with rubbish equipment, having to scavenge for basic supplies and struggling to win fights against basic enemies. That is part of the winning formula and Bethesda would be very silly to change it.

Anybody ordered form G2Play and can confirm its all above board? How come it's so cheap compared to other companies?

Went through as a normal transaction.

Set up account, added it to my basket, paid via Paypal, received emails, started playing the 10/11 waiting game.

Has there been any mention anywhere of a season pass, or DLC included version?

If I recall when FO3 was launched, they eventually made Brotherhood of Steel an update, or expansion, not a DLC, so they could charge a half price game for it, rather than a DLC costing.

Skyrim's DLCs were relatively small in comparison, and didn't overly expand the game.
Just wonder if FO4 will have poor DLC like Skyrim, or if they will hold off awhile and try to fleece for a full upgrade price when the events hit?

There isn't any difference between DLC and an expansion. All expansions are DLC. DLC denotes the method of delivery, and that's it.

Okay, let me rephrase, has any mention been made regarding size of expansions and their costings and any availability of a 'season pass' type thing?

When they launched FO3 the expansions were costly, very late, especially brotherhood of steel. Skyrim has small weak soon available DLCs.
Any actual information spoffle?

I think the Pip-boy edition is already sold out, its listed as out of stock for all 3 platforms.
Crazy, for a game that's out in November.

.

Wouldn't worry about it. Lad I used to work with was the biggest LAD I'd ever met, always out on the ****, bit of a womanizer etc.

Yet he would not shut up about Fallout/Elder Scrolls @ work :p
