**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

In addition to my crashing, I'm getting a fair few quest bugs. I don't get anything in my journal or map icon, but I get told to do certain tasks.

e.g.
Came across 2 guys called Arts fighting in Salem. Once one had died I got told to "get gladys' keys from reception". Did it and nothing happened when I got to her room. No idea why the quest started or if it even finished.

Another just now. Randomly got a quest message to go speak to the Dugout Inn bro's in DC. Went through the quest line until the rescue Vadim part. now I have no idea where to go as there's nothing on the map or in quests, and I've lost the radio guy

Think I've encountered my first bug. Can't progress on a certain quest as the guy that is supposed to access a terminal is stuck :(. Hopefully I made a save not too far away.

Decided I want to take some time out and focus on building Sanctuary up a bit.

Where should I start? Build a metal wall around the outside? Should keep it well protected with a few turrets.

Does Danse have a companion quest? He's been my follower for ages but I've not had a quest from him. Nick Valentine gave me his companion quest quite quickly in comparison...

Huh ive almost exclusively used Piper and I don't recall getting a quest off her, am I being forgetful? We've bonked so its not like she hates me.

60 hours in, opted to get all the bobble heads, side quests & achievements before doing the point of no return quest (see spoiler for the quest name) so I have a solid save to go back to for alternative story paths.

I've not played a game with this level of dedication for about 10 years; really enjoying it.

The Molecular Level

I've got about half of Sanctuary enclosed in junk walls. One day I'll go back and finish it off properly but my priority has been that alleyway you take back from raiders right on the edge of the city, that's become my main base. It's a little cramped but can't argue with the distance.

To the guys above talking about the walls etc. being tricky - instead of always using the foundations what you can do instead is open the console while building (@ key) and turn on clipping by typing "tcl" - it applies the lack of collisions to the objects you're building, so they can be overlapped, stuck in the ground etc. whatever you want... You might notice after doing this you can't interact with them - just disable clipping again ("tcl" a second time in the console) then close the workshop menu and re-open it and you should be good. Also note if you do this you probably want to save + reload your game afterwards as sometimes the console disables achievements (I think?)

Is there a way to rebind the R key so that it continues to be "reload" but isn't "take all" for containers anymore? I keep accidentally popping open a container menu in the middle of a fight as I try to do a quick reload - very annoying and I can't seem to see the option to rebind that action...

I'm not quite sure how it happened, though I think it may have been something I turned off by accident in the Nvidia control panel (Shader cache?), but my fps went through the roof. Trying to pick a lock was quite funny to watch.
