**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

On a slightly different note, anyone been experiencing CTD since installing Far Harbor or just in recent days? Since putting Far Harbor on I'm frequently getting insta-CTD at a scene change, entering or leaving buildings/rooms, fast travel etc. Running a vanilla in-modded game other than the official DLC. Used to be quite reliable and steady on my last playthrough (mid 2016).

Any ideas why I'm not using all my gpu?

And only getting 50FPS with a GTX 1080?

Just installed it for the first time

EDIT:

Sorted it

I changed the ini file and now getting 100FPS

I'm 108 minutes in and I'm bored looking for a bobby pin.

Not my idea of fun...Glad I tired playing it on a shared Steam Library rather than buying it. :p

Bobby pins are very common.

Are you looking in containers? You'd be hard pressed to see a bobby pin out in the open because they're very small.

If nothing else, you can very often buy bobby pins from general traders (and sometimes other traders, since they're such a common item). Trashcan Carla usually has some and she comes to you once you claim Sanctuary as your settlement.

I think I bought a few bobby pins early on, but I've found thousands. The number has been showing as >99 when lockpicking since not long after I started playing.

108 minutes and still looking for a bobby pin? You are doing it wrong...

Started Game

Went out the Vault

Met the Robot servant thing

Went for a walk

Got myself a dog

Went to a Museum rescued the people

He sent me off on a mission to get a Gun thingy

Goes down stairs to unlock the Electric gate thing follwing my objectives on the map thing.

Pics a lock

Breaks a bobby pin

Tries to find one

Can't

:p

Looked in all the furniture in the museum

Not one!

You have access to Sanctuary as a settlement, so you are guaranteed access to bobby pins.

You'll almost certainly find some in the houses in Sanctuary. They spawn often in civilian domestic settings. Mirror containers in houses are a good place to look.

Trashcan Carla is a trader who visits several locations on a circuit and will frequently be in Sanctuary. She waits on the main road close to the settlement workshop for a while and moves on. If nothing else, you can craft a chair there so you can wait until she arrives. She usually has bobby pins in stock. At worst, she won't and you'll have to wait a few days until she comes round again.

Another option is to not do the quest until you've found bobby pins. It's not a linear game. In a worst case scenario with a bizarre shortage of bobby pins, you could make a general trading stall in Sanctuary, assign a settler to it and buy bobby pins from them.

I just had a look and I'm currently carrying 1100 bobby pins. I think I stashed a couple of hundred in Sanctuary too. They really are very common.

Titanfall 2 Is the best game of 2016..Campaign was short but hell what a ride!

Fallout 4 is Skyrim with a diffent skin....

I'm enjoying the old blood at the mo...

I'm hundred of hours in Borderlands 2 and the DLC of pre sequal

Re bobby pins, there's one house in Sanctuary with a cellar (accessed from outside round the back) that has a few useful items for beginners. Fairly certain there was a bobby pin or two in there. Then there's the mole rat den behind and underneath Red Rocket garage which may have one in the junk there, too.

I'm late to the fallout 4 game, just bought it & all DLC. Really enjoying it, looks great with regrowth even on my ageing 680sli rig (soon to be 1070)

Mod recommendations? Got regrowth, true or real storms, enhanced blood.. Not much else so far.

Alright alright Angilion I know this is Easyrider but there's no need to take the **** :p :D

edit: also, everyone knows you're doing Fallout wrong if you 1) pick a mission 2) go to first waypoint 3) repeat until mission complete. You're supposed to flit and flit between about 6 different missions randomly going to different corners of the map until 30 hours later go back to completing the first mission.

Be patient, so you will acquire the bobby pin you so deserately need! I've got so many now that I can't remember having less than 99.

I think I just like tight short games tbh...:p

Beginning next week, Fallout 4’s Update 1.9 on PlayStation 4 adds support for the power of the PlayStation 4 Pro console. The update provides enhanced lighting and graphic features, including:

-Native 1440p resolution
-Enhanced draw distance for trees, grass, objects and NPCs
-Enhanced Godray effects

Also available next week, with so many fans still actively playing Fallout 4 on Steam, we’re excited to announce the release of the game’s High-Resolution Texture Pack. Consider this free download a love letter to our amazing PC fans that have supported us – not just with Fallout 4, but across multiple decades and games.

Note: To utilize the High-Resolution Texture Pack, make sure you have an additional 58 GB of available and that your system meets/exceeds the recommended specs below.

Recommended PC Specs
Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
Intel Core i7-5820K or better
GTX 1080 8GB/AMD Radeon RX 490 8GB
8GB+ Ram

LOL,58GB just for the HD textures. My whole FO4 install with numerous HD texture packs, many of which use 4K maps,is less than that.
