**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

I don't know about everyone else, but I don't really play Fallout games for it's graphical fidelity. The graphics will be awesome from trailers we have seen, don't see why people are overreacting.

I want it to look good however its not the defining factor of a good game. I want something that scales like Crysis, works fine for all systems but scales up into a rig crippling beast at highest settings.

Up to standards, are you blind?

It looks smooth as a babies bum, no sharpness to any of the textures and the characters look like they need a serious case of the mod

Stop being a baby. It's fairly cleat that they aren't PC graphics considering we've actually seen game play videos that look much better.

Seems like Bethesda is probably going very conservative on the graphics in order to ensure best possible performance after the fiasco they had with their games on 360 and especially PS3. Which isn't a terrible thing for console owners.

On the plus side, the lighting is quite nice. The roughest aspects seem 'fixable' either through graphics settings/tweaks or texture mods, so I'm not terribly concerned. I think with everything touched up, some better AA and with the new lighting, it might actually end up being quite nice looking. On PC, at least.

I'm actually kind of happy they ended up staying with the Lamebryo engine, just because everyone well versed in modding Skyrim will be able to use their experience to bring some of the best graphics mods to Fallout 4.

Graphics are mildly universal though and not terribly hard to deal with, its scripting where the issue really arises.

Gameplay was awesome.

Unless you meant combat? In which case it was a mixed bag, especially if you were trying to play it like an FPS. New Vegas was pretty decent, I thought.
Combat and movement yes. I wanted to enjoy it but the combat put me off, and using VATS as a subtitute just made the game feel Automatic.

Is the engine 64bit yet?

PS4 graphics at 720p are going to look like a turd. The E3 footage was obviously high spec and explains why the PC recommended specs are quite high. Hardly false advertising, though disappointing if you play on console I guess.

This is why we play games on a PC though, right? :)
