**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Re weapons, I've got Reba II and an incendiary sniper for distance work.

Overseer's Guardian is good for close up but not much good at distance, at least until I get my gun skills up a bit.

Still carrying the minigun and flamer but not used very much, will probably trade for a missile launcher when I find somewhere that sells them. Not encountered the Gauss rifle yet though as I've just started the Railroad plot perhaps I'll encounter it during that (?).

Yeah STALKER has had this since 2007! Would be mint, and I can't really see it being terribly difficult to do. I wouldn't even be fussed about animations - just a script that removes 'weapon with scope' from inventory, and replace it with 'model without scope', then just add 'scope mod' to inventory.

Yeah im sure without the animation it would not be that difficult. Animation woud be nice though! Not sure if this mod already existed in the old games or not.

mehhh darn game. Was down at the vault to cure Cait, just cleared the outside when got a message a settlement was under attack. So, wanting to be a good guy cleaned up the last at the vault, teleported to the Settlement, about halfway across the map. As we arrive gets another message that one of the other Settlements is under attack as well, even further away (actually, right at the top of the map!). Well, no time to waste I thought and cleared out the 1st Settlement, then another "Beam me there Scotty !" and arrived to shoot down a Legendary Raider. I was like, hmm was this all. Walking around the corner though I see this.

That's 8 Raiders that been moved down  Guess having those 2 Turrets on the roof made the Raiders easy picking for them. :p

In regards to scop and other weapon modifications. If I remember right both Fallout 3 and New Vegas (I know if not both games it is one of them. lol ) you could change any weapon modification on the spot, just clicked on the weapon and change the modification, or remove if it wasn't to your liking. Wasn't any animation though, just a click sound and it was done.

Am starting to hate those "Your Settlement Is Under Attack" messages while on a campaign mission, second only to when your companion turns to you in the middle of a firefight, down to 10% health, "Can we have a chat please?" Even if you tell them to naff off, it's all happening in real time so still getting attacked until you can disengage from the conversation. Bethesda should have suppressed both these occurrences if the game detects you are in combat or in the presence of enemies.

These are most used weapons, modded but not fully yet, but already they are sufficient as they are - for now.

Guys, what about all these Mods I'm accumulated in my Inventory taking up space? If I don't have them applied to any of my weapons is it alright to store them until I do?

What annoys me about "your settlement is under attack" messages is no matter how well defended the place is, no matter how many turrets there are or people with goods weapons and armor...if you don't go, the settlement ALWAYS loses. It gets really tedious.

^^ That's a point actually while I think of it, if I 'trade' with my settlers and give them half decent guns and ammo, would they not then be able to defend themselves better?

Got to be honest, I'm about 50 hours in and I've only had the message once :D

@rids57, thanks, but does that not only happen if you have a certain perk?

I lost an interesting NPC because of them stupid settlement attacks :(. By the time I got there nearly everyone was dead. Just hope there was no quest involved with him later on.

They can defend themselves better if you do that, but it's still an auto lose unless you physically go there to allow the battle to play out. I've got a settlement (the farm in between the forgers refinery and the Supermutant infested satellite array) where the smallest gun any of the settlers has is a stock laser rifle, the guards are all rocking plasma pistols or rifles and there's turrets on every side of the walls (I did 2 layers of shack foundations all around) and they still lose unless I go there to spend 3 seconds watching the invaders get atomised.

Since learning that the only ones I put any real effort into arming are my provisoners since they're the ones wandering the world.

The weapons they have have unlimited ammo, but if you give them a weapon to use, they only have the ammo you give them. This is certainly true for companions so I assume it applies to settlers in your bases too.

On another note, (and don't tell me where to find them!) but I'm confused how people have so many power armour frames. I have 4 so far, in about 95 hours (level 36)!
