****Official Fallout New Vegas Thread****

Quick question, I'm on my second save going through freeside doing the kings quests, and he's told me to go negotiate with the NCR during the firefight or whatever, but when I try to walk up to them they just shoot me? Do I need to gain more NCR reputation or something?

Thats what i do, the one time i stored some weapons etc, by the time i got round to picking them up again they were rubbish in comparison to the stuff i now had.

I had this problem too. I can't quite remember how I solved it but it has something to do with what you tell the king and what you tell the woman in the shop giving things out. I think you have to tell the king what's going on instead of being quiet about it like Pacer ask.

Also holster your weapon and wear a neutral armour of course :)

As said earlier they will shoot if you dont holster your weapon because i made that mistake first time :o:p .
 
I've encountered my first major bug and its potentially gamebreaking....unless anyone knows of a fix. I've googled but come up with nothing.

I lost Ed-E in Vault 11. He didn't die and I didn't tell him to wait, he just disappeared and I assumed he would just turn up. I carried on without him as I still have his enhanced sensors perk.

Anyway, I've now reached Caesar's tent and I cannot go in because companions must stay outside, the problem being the game thinks he is still with me....but he's not visible for me to issue the wait command :confused:

I've gone back to Vault 11, Lucky 38 and Primm trying to find him to no avail.

I don't really want to load an old save game which was maybe 10 hours ago to get him back just to ditch him properly.

Unless I stop playing and wait for a patch my only other option is to try and blast my way through to Caesar, which on Hardcore is very difficult. I tried and failed :(

I was really enjoying the game until this :/

I know but when it stops me progressing the story its a bit poor.

Now I have a new problem.

Decided to finish off a few side quests whilst waiting for Ed-E to possibly re-appear and went into Vault 34. Got right to the very end and shut down the reactor and saved my game. Came back to play again and the save game won't load, freezes the Xbox. Ok, no problem I thought there's an auto save a few minutes before..... Well there is but I get the following message.

"This game save relies on downloadable content that is no longer available. Continue Loading?" I choose yes (of course) and then it tells me the storage device is no longer available.

It would appear that this is another common issue. So it would appear I can no longer continue the game until a patch comes out which may or may not allow my saves to work again. No way am I putting in another 40 hours and starting again.

I'm tempted to take the game back and try getting a refund on SOGA as this game is not fit for purpose at present..... :(

That sucks :(
I've been really lucky with the game, just a couple of freeze ups and getting stuck in rocks on mountains, nothing major like the stuff happening to you - I'd be well miffed if a save messed up on me (especially my 84+ hours played one)
I think when I make a new character to play hardcore mode I'll be making a few saves just in case.
