thats a new one on me too...its like theres hidden controls in fifa i know nothing about.Unless he means L1 & square which is crossfield passing i think? (early crossing)

Fifa WC2010...
I took up the challenge made indirectly by C64. He said that players had got better on WC2010 and I would not make it to Division 1 now so easily....so
As most of us here made new accounts last week so we could get the FIFA 11 Demo early, I decided that I would try with my new account to do just that, go from Division 10 to Division 1 by getting promoted first time, in each Division.. So I have nearly completed that, I have just been promoted to Division two... yaa for me.. no, this is about some of the messages I recieved, particularly this evening.. and some of the gamemanship and bad sporting behaviour.
...As I had just slotted my 5th goal past my opponent, the score now 5-1, he messaged me saying Im the luckiest "kid" he had ever played in his life... shortly after I scored the freekick of the season which sent him straight to the menu screen to disconnect... now that made me laugh!!
But I have noticed something that I thought I was imagining at first, but it appears quite evident. The higher the leagues you go, the more nasty people become. They tend to celebrate as long as possible, they watch every goal they score, no matter how poor, 3 TIMES... I had one guy who I was murdering in every way but the scoreline, he scored a goal right before half time and started the second half with every intension of playing keep ball in his own half for the remainder of the game ( that didnt work )... I have noticed people playing keep ball as soon as they take the lead has become more widespread... its pathetic!!!
Players who are higher up the league tend to think stats are the be all and end all, they are vindictive and spiteful, hacking you down when you are through on goal, time wasting, using their pause to stall you for 3 x 30 seconds and sending petty comments...
I sometimes wish that I could do that thing in the movie "The Ring" and just climb out of their TV and strangle them, and how bad do you feel when you have played the game against one of these guys and you lose through some stupid mistake...
It make me crazy sometimes, the other day I lost a game that I clearly should have put to bed, and the guy started the celebrations and the 3 replays... it was late and everyone was in bed so I just grabbed my pillow, put it over my face and screamed!! lol!!! I'm such a douche
Am I looking forward to these antics in FIFA 11... well I'm going to do my very best to stop people from celebrating goals I can assure you!! bring it on!!

So this time next week the majority if not all of us should be playing this. What will your first game on FIFA 11 be?
Think I will go straight into career mode myself. However I'm unsure which route to go down. Might set up 2. One just being a player at a lower league club with the intention of working my way up to a bigger team, then player-manager at Man Utd.

He means R1 and Square using Classic controls - its just a low flighted driven pass...

For me, definitely a Be-A-Goalkeeper exhibition game. I love the career and always play as Everton, and that will be the huge bulk of what I play, but I definitely fancy playing a game or two as a keeper before I delve fully into the career mode. Hopefully my copy will be here in a day or two anyway, I'm desperate to start playing it!

It is just basically the same as square but kept slightly lower, it's horribly inaccurate also, so probably not as valuable as suggested.
Were using it instead of 25-40 yard ground passes, and for that its not inaccurate at all, its great

Was also thinking about this. Was considering a career as goal keeper but I think it mite be a bit boring after a few games and I will be annoyed at the CPU missing chances etc.

Hopefully, depends if my PR contact gets his allocation in on time, then he'll get my copy out right away. I just want it today or tomorrow as I've got about 6 hours to myself tomorrow when the wife is out so it would be great to have it for that.
It shouldnt - the flights definitely different - it just about goes high enough above people but can be easily intercepted. I find it as accurate as a ground pass over the same distance - its just that a normal pass gives the receiving player much more time to get to the right place.i use classic controls tried r1 and square for driven passing...did exactly the same as square so i dunno *shrug*
It doesnt appear to have any curl so it could be useful as a ball down the line from fullback to winger - the furthest Ive used it is to do a pass from RB to LW - works quite well when you know they arent being marked. Just need to get more used to using it since chesting seems to be improved in FIFA 11 it appears to be a more useful pass...

Just an update on the in store pre order. It is a £5 deposit, the rest payable on collection. So if it does come in at £25 then it'll only leave £20 to pay
Schnoob - does that mean I could pay tomorrow and pick it up anytime on the 1st? How long will they hold it for?
I presume the deposit is returnable if you decide not to get it or it doesnt hit the £25 price point?
Might end up with multiple copies at this rate...

Not worth it just to save a couple of quid. Just keep your online pre order, if you were going to the effort of physically going out to the shops to buy it then your best bet would be the highly likely supermarket sale on the night of release.
Haven't ordered anywhere myself yet so hoping a good deal turns up soon. Last year I got 2 copies of fifa 10 because one internet order didnt appear to go through and after worrying about not receiving my copy on release day 2 turned up

been meaning to post for help with tackling on fifa 10, think ill need to do so for 11, seems some people i play whenever i challenge for the ball its shoots away and my player seems to fall ass over head every time, not pressing any buttons and just using the analogue stick to control direction and interface between the players and using red to force the challenge, what am i doing wrong?

what time of day do you play ? maybe that is the difference I mainly play 11pm onwards and don't find it easy at all everyones ultra defensive with 4 defenders and 4 defensive midfielders right in front looking to win games 1-0 and that's only division 5.Fifa WC2010...

Maybe when you play games in this mode you just play "whoever" and it's not against someone in the same division.
So if you get a good run or play certain times of the day you could end up playing against noobs the whole way through.
All I can say is try 11pm onwards

Not sure about the those points if I'm honest with you. haven't really looked into it. It's a bit of a gamble with the price not being confirmed yet, I will find out next week, but it's a secret until release.
In all honesty if you definately want it for £25, head into store at midnight thurs/fri, otherwise keep your online order.
