*** Official FIFA 12 Thread ***

I know there's a patch in the works to fix problems with Ultimate Team and prevent users from exploiting Head to Head Seasons by controlling only the goalkeeper and letting the CPU do all of the defendnig. It could be that although it wasn't due for another week.

Just curious, what difficulty does everyone play on in singleplayer?

I seem to find "Semi-Pro" way too easy, aka winning 6-0 or better, even on 8 minute matches.

I tap it up to "Professional" (the next one up!) and I get hammered. There seems to be no middle ground!!

Any tips?

I've been on Profesional since the game came and a few days ago in Manager Mode with Milan I had a 13-1-1 record from my first 15 matches and was thniking "I'm definitely ready for World Class".

Fast forward to yesterday when I scraped a league victory on the last day of the season (27-6-5 record to Inter's 27-5-6). The record looks A LOT better than it felt while playing. I even lost 1-0 to Novara when I was six points clear and they were bottom :/

A tip for Professional - just keep the ball forever. Make safe passes and wait for everything to open up (which it eventually does). I've set Run Frequency to 80 for both User and CPU and it helps a lot in the final third.

Part of my problem is that once I get good at a level, I start hitting killer balls to the strikers too quickly and subsequently end up with ~45% possession in games where I could be absolutely devastating or totally ineffective. The Novara game was a prime example of me getting into such a horrible rut passing too quickly that I couldn't drag myself out of it no matter how slowly I tried to play.

Alternatively, fiddle with the game customisations further (run frequency, pass error etc.) while on Professional to pinpoint styles of play that are causing you trouble and slowly ramp them back up as you get used to it.

yeah dont close Origin either i have done that and now i get "ready to install" i click that and it seems to do something but then it says "ready to install" again :( . I have no uninstall option either, so im lost now :(

uninstall if from control panel then it allows u to download it again, thats what ive just done, its downloading now (even though got the disc).

I wonder if you can back up the game files and then transfer them back into the origin folder so thst installing only verifies them? You can do it on Steam. I will try that i think.

Yep, worked fine.

I moved the game folder to a different location, restarted origin then put it back and started the install. Took a few seconds and it is ready to play

So I'm struggling with my games at the moment:

Seems my team has disappeared and also in the team management I have "ghost" goalkeepers in all my positions which in turn crashes my game when I scroll over them. :S

Anybody else having issues?

Some really annoying little bits in this game. Who thought it would be a good idea to have the ref sometimes touch the ball. I don't get the thinking behind it:rolleyes:

lol. It happens in real life, but it is not supposed to:p

Coming in next years Fifa- Floodlight failure so you just sit there looking at a blank screen for half an hour.

I'm all for realism, but within the actual game. It is one of those things that sounds good as an idea, but there isn't a point in having it in the game.

I had the ghost issue in replays, never in game though

Same problem with step up from semi to pro but getting the formation right and some tweaking makes the difference. Keeping possession and easy passes help until things open up as mentioned above

I'm always frustrated by lack of personell in the box no matter what formation I play
