man the combat is slow
lol I think I have had enough already tbh
The graphics look really nice loving the cut scenes but I am really hating having to play it in such a small window. I really think I need to dig out a gamepad too tbh
The resolution in the alpha is fixed to 720p window so yeah its pretty horrible but its tolerable for the mean time.
The controls to a lot of people that havent played FFXI are very difficult but to me who had FFXI it felt 2nd nature to run around and camera controls.
They have already said they will be completely overhauling the combat system when Beta starts.
As this testing is currently Alpha phase 2 (Emails say Beta testing but SE are inconsistent with the emails) the new system won't be in place yet so don't worry too much about the combat.

erm I think you will find I am a Alpha tester
I have done betas before. I dont just play and give up I always send feedback and/or bug reports
But I just couldnt stand playing it yesterday. I hated that it was windowed to such a small size for my screen. It hurt my eyes if im honest.
But tbh buddy its pretty harsh of you to judge before you have any idea on my stance of things. Then again interwebz serious business an all

careful posting screenies. NDA and all if someone does report you and links screeny to your character kiss goodbye to your beta access, seen it happen

i want them to make the changes and bring out a new client for alpha 2... let alone the beta client
alpha is so so so limited, and the big big problems with combat lag/limited gathering are tiring me out
still i've got every faith in this game being fantastic. it won't rival wow's popularity and im glad... as long as they make endgame as challenging as ff11, we've got a winner.

Wasn't my intention for you to see it as an attack. I guess i saw what you wrote as something like "i tried it for a bit and won't bother with it anymore". Apologies if i sounded like a knob

I fully intend on playing it more. I just had enough last night. I will play it more once it has been updated a bit more
its not suposed to be good its not even beta which is something most "testers" wont understand its not about gameplay and having a good time its about testing stuff and making sure it works and leaving feedback.
its not one of those betas that comes around 1-2 weeks before release and lets everyone and there dog in

This is running a fine line (with SWTOR) for pulling me away from WoW, I'd hoped AoC, Warhammer Online and Aion would do it but I'm still waiting
Basically by instanced, that means it's not open-ended - typically instanced MMOs just have a central hub where you interact with other players, but you're sent off into your own loaded individual (and often linear) areas outside of the hub as opposed to open-ended worlds.
