***Official Final Fantasy XIV Thead***

As far as I am aware the beta hasn't started yet, or if it has the people in it are keeping very quiet. There have been a couple of people on mmorpg.com claiming to be in the beta but their claims have been debunked.

SE themselves are saying nothing about the start date of the beta, the best guess on the core is that the first round of testing will be end of Jan/beginning of Feb with an open beta in late summer and a release in the autumn. Remember your salt when considering these dates and don't quote me on this in the future, I am only passing on speculation.

Mid to end of march I'm reckoning now with beta, get the rest of world launch of ff13 well out of the way
and of course with the beta online even with the NDA information will still flood forth once people start playing :)

The 1st beta info is likely to be released at the FFXI fanfest on Sunday 28th of this month imo.

They have a time slot for XIV at least.
 
I was interested in the other ff mmo but i was playing wow at the time and didnt want another huge time sink. If sto belly flops like it looks like it is going to then im going to try this for sure!

The graphics look really nice for an mmo...
 
exciting stuff, first round of beta confirmed to start around 11th march.
rumours flying round that those who got in will be notified tomorrow

I'm REALLY hoping this doesn't suck, after being let down by Warhammer and STO which I also waited eagerly for a long time to come out.
