***Official Final Fantasy XIV Thead***

Same, I'm enjoying it, although I'm playing with a RL mate which helps :D

Agree.

There is just sonething about the game which is so addictive and compelling. I think there are a few things I would like to see improved as a few parts are counter intuitive or down right annoying but on the whole it just plays so well.

Have they reduced the leve cd to 24 hours? Don't seem to be waiting 36 now, though that they may be in my head.

Also a useful tip for you guys that I noticed (though I bet most of you already know it) when you do your levee you get boost to your skill points and phys points that you normally would for killing. Most leve timers are massively generous so I generally spend 15-20mins of a leve farming random mobs before completing the leve. Get massive amounts of extra skill points and level soooooo much faster!

Is anyone in a linkshell who needs members on travis? Eggs linkie isn't recruiting and I know I'm missing out without a linkie so want to get it sorted.

Starting to get bored now, I really like this game, But they really need to give me something to do other than Leves every 36 hours and grinding up other classes..

Like what?

Honest question I'm not trying to be a funny sod :p the only thing I would have liked to have seen in a party dependent game like this would have been public quests similar to war. Though apparently these are present in certain areas and at certain levels.

A friend managed to do a behest quest (think thats what its called) last night and said it was good fun but the reward for the effort it took was not good. I would like to see more gear rewards so far ive seen a 20 leve give a lvl 29 chest piece and ive run a few now

yes m8 thas what i use :)

does it take much to configure it?

Also, loving this game, however one thing im finding very frustrating is the fact i can't do anything for 36 hours once i've done my 8 levequests.
Last night i logged in ready to do a bunch of quests with my hosuemate, but neither of us could do anything, i just logged out and played Starcraft instead :/

the only thing to do is either farm or level up another profession/class, seems a bit dull and lacking depth. I think it would be better if they had a reset time every day, say like 2am they all renew so you're able to exchange them.

Exactly same here, i logged in last night, did my 8 leve quests, plus the blacksmithing and armor local ones. Then logged out and played Civ 5.

Probably wont log back on again now till Wednesday to rinse and repeat.

Is there anything to do in this game other than grind?

It's like SE have put all these measures in to stop the hardcore players grinding but there's actually nothing else to do anyway...

Yeah same, i'll just end up logging in every 2 days... which is a real shame because when i can do the quests, i love it! I'm only like level 12 so i reckon theres much more enjoyment out of it. If i can be bothered to log every 2-3 days other than every evening, i don't know!

I kinda expected something which i could pick up, learn, and play whenever i wanted, being an MMO and all....

Launch day is not till the 30th not that it makes any diff to content, however maybe you could troll else where you have made your feeling clear over again

It's not so much trolling. I really, really, really... really want to play/like this game. As such i am keeping my eye on this thread looking for signs of hope that deliver on the promised expectation of a few enthusiastic players

In short:
Game content
Viable keyboard and mouse option for PC game

Having followed the thread avidly in the weeks running up to release, I have to agree with Bunny on this one. Claims that so much content was being held back, that the beta was a year out of date, were just wildly optimistic.

I'm not terribly surprised to see posts start to tricke in along the lines of "what else is there to do?" The signs were pretty blatant for anyone not blinded by the hype machine.

Personally I dont think there is a truelack of content as there was with the likes of star trek online. They have instead limited the speed at which you can access the content by limiting the amount of leves that can be done day by day.

I think if there is a true content gap it will be apparent atthehigher levels. I find the way they have limited the leves somewhat frustrating but (and whilst this may be blind optimism) I would assume there is some half decent reason for this.

This isn't the ultimate omgwowiloveitbestestgameever but it is quite a fun and engaging game and personally would say it's worth a go.

@ bunny. The hardware mouse has improved, don't know if you would like it yet but it's better.

I'd agree with this.. its not so much the amount of content, more so the limit in which you can progress through said content. If i've brought a game, i wanna play it quite a lot. FF14 limits your playtime in a strange way. Unless you want to rank up every class that is, which i dont! lol
