Hmm this game might fill a gap that's popped up, so it's out in a month?
Hope to get into beta before then so I don't waste my money if I don't like it
Cant stress enough palying the beta will not reflect the game, this beta contains as little as 10% of the game and has been a true beta. I have been lucky enough to have played every wow beta, aion beta, AOC and WAR and what you played was pretty what you got on launch day.....Square enix are holding back dont judge the game on this beta. If you dont want to waste your money wait
. If they force group leveling like in ffxi it will be a true MMO where people have to talk to each in order to play instead of OMG GS 5,000 NOOB ZOMG U SUC 
Can anyone give me a little background info on the game, is it going to be more solo friendly than FF11, is the world open or is it very enclosed and instanced, do they encourage much player interaction and is there any sort of pvp in it?
All i'm looking for at the moment is an open world MMO to play but these days they are so depressingly thin on the ground.

Never had so many troubles getting in a beta before.I even registered every Gamewebsite who had betakeys.Now my mailadress gets spammed with gazilions of mails from every website EXCEPT A MAIL WITH A KEY IN IT Lmao
I can understand where you're coming from and what you're trying to say, but the very core basics of the game may not be for me, simply the movement system or something might get on my nerves and I'll dislike it.
I too have played all the beta's you've mentioned and a list longer than I care to remember and there isn't a single game that changed from beta to release day, actually I'd be worried if it did because the beta is supposed to be testing the final product for release. Ironing out bugs, testing large scale content to stress the servers and see how the handle, I'm sure you know
Maybe Square enix have hidden all but 10% of the game, but it's not content that will solely sell it to me.

True never tought of things like that, mind you the camera angle is bad....really bad tbh, the chat box sux and the toons dont move to well to me. However im still getting the pre order as i belive these will be fixed in future and am prepeared to put up with them for now. They seem to be very focused on servers and log on on this beta rather then fixing the above and content which i guess is good thing
They said near future about a week ago on twitter so could be anytime matey.

Are some people running it on lower graphical settings? As on some pics it seems a little blocky and not that smooth.
Yeah, looks like it. Mine were taken at Med to High settings I think, but to get a playable frame rate I need everything on low and I can forget full screen native 1680x1050
. It is a beta build though.

Speaking of the PS3 & PC scenes mixing, I'm thinking gamepads are going to be the most popular control method going by the beta as the keyboard and mouse combination still has a long way to go before it could be considered playable. Weird, never thought I'd use a 360 pad for an MMO .

I thought this to start off with but apart from the very slow menus when trading/browsing npcs and sending things to your retainer its not too bad, once you know all the shortcuts on the keyboard you don't even need to use the mouse and the GUI becomes far easier on a whole, macros help as well.
I'm still missing my arrow keys to control the camera though.
I didn't play FFXI so I missed out on the old control scheme, but I can't imagine finding the keyboard good for camera control, I'd guess it would feel like playing a FPS before mouse look became the standard, a bit clunky rather than a smooth rotation.
[shocked] Ah, that would explains some things then like cameras issue people have, hopefully that gets looked at.
Does this mean a lot of things have been dumbed down? I really want to try it still though
