As said, there will be end game content, SE are going to want out £8.99 for as long as possible :D.

As for the information, there is a lot known if you dig around the 'net. SE are perhaps one of the more laconic developers out there, but there are few if any that would release significant information about the latter stages of a game before release. We will find out what is in store for us when we get there.
 
FPS is now uncapped or capped at 120 iirc, absolutely awesome!!!

Seriously hope it stays that way, some people are moaning that it feels wrong haha, its going to make it a whole new game, can't wait to play now!!!

One happy bunny right now as this was my biggest concern for XIV.

I think this is going to be a massive boost to the game, for anyone that did dynamis in XI will understand what I'm getting at, I had a good PC but in dynamis I would be constantly turning off shadows and other various options, and while it was a whole lot of fun being a thief and pulling in dynamis I always felt sorry for the other people beating down on mobs and not really doing anything remotely exciting.

What I'm getting at is for those that understand FPS, it will smooth out the game so much, help all of us become more fluid in certain situations and do more in battles and zones when its very crowded.

Oh yeah I remember the god awful besieged in XI as well, just one big lag fest, I hope I never have to endure anything like this again.

So yeah well done SE, you've made my day!
 
While I'm still unsure if I can last this game longer than six months, this is still without doubt the game I look forward to the most at the moment (since Uncharted 3 hasn't been officially announced yet, you see :p).
 
Will have to take another look at it - tried it a few weeks ago but the awful camera controls made me want to scream.

Far too consoley at that point but they did say they were goign to change it - been too busy to look at it since.

I don't have time to read this all just now but could someone give me low down on how it is just now and how it will likely be? I loved FF11 even if it was insanely slow at times.

As far as I can tell, the controls haven't changed. If the control system is a killer for you then I would look for another MMO to play.

This incredibly vague, could you give us some idea what information you are looking for. Some information: the game in its current state is a bit buggy and laggy but most things seem to work and is playable. Leveling is currently insanely fast, killing about 20 low level mobs got me to physical level 10, it is currently assumed this will be tuned down in release. There is still lots to come in the final release, we are playing with 10-20% of the final game.

From a personal point of view I love it and I can't wait for release.

Played a little yesterday, the mouse control has improved a huge amount. Doesnt feel quite as smooth as most other mmo's but that might be me just being strange. It is definately useable now. As far as joypad/keyboard camera, i think they are fine, but not really easy to use if you have played games with a mouse for so long.

Comparing it to the tiny bit of FFXI that i played I find it very simmilar. Quests are still pointing you in a general direction and leaving you to find out who you need to speak with. The small kill quests you get from "field manuals?" in FFXI are quite simmilar to guildleves which dont seem to give great xp but mostly gil and gear. So for now it seems that most of the leveling will be group based grinding although they might have ways that make it more interesting, hard to know yet.

As for the battle system and classes, instead of a subjob for extra skills, when you learn a most skills as a class, they become availible to equip on another class as a slightly weaker ablity. This gives you access to some nice combinations which will hopefully open up a large amount of variety and not end up someting like WoW where its pretty much "play this way or you suck".
 
I was thinking that as well, noticed they had keys but for North America only, 1 of the reasons why i didnt renew my sub was a lot of thier betas are NA only :(
 
Yeah, it's amazingly pretty, still quite glitchy in a lot of stuff currently though. I'm tired of limsa lominsa and grinding since i've been in it since alpha so i only really log on every few days to do the guildleves, now.

Excited about starting somewhere new in the full release though!

I'm EU, just went through a NA proxy to get the key, was quite lucky though as I just randomly checked when I got in from work.

FP tweeted right before they went up yesterday so keep an eye out if your trying today etc.
