That's similar to my save - about the same amount of time too I'd guess. Why you uninstall?

I've been voluntarily unemployed for 6 months and I'm far too comfortable. Need the motivation to find a job. Need to stop going to bed at 4am, getting up at 1pm and playing non-stop for 15 hours. It's probably for the best, doesn't mean I resent it massively. Especially seeing as there's no actual football on - for a football fanatic, this has got to be the worst time of year to quit FM :D

I've read through many tactic tutorials, have my training set up perfectly and etc.

Yet with a full strength Manchester United I struggle with results. It gets boring and frustrating after a while. I feel like tactics are broken? I even tried downloading some and its meh.

Shame, but a good decision I think... Good luck :)

Ouch. Good luck in life dude.

Maybe you can become a real life football manager ;)

I'm at 461 hours, 2026/2027 (although some were unemployed)

What team are you with at the minute? My first season(well half season) just finished and it went terribly. I was on the verge of being sacked and I'm now trying to get a new job before I get fired :D

In approximately 5 months I'll be back with FM 14. Kind of fallen out of favour with football at the moment. I'm sure it'll change but loads of FM coupled with a haunting season in League One this year has left me completely desolate. I'm sure I'll stop being dramatic as soon as the season starts!

This is my first ever FM. a lot of people have said it's almost too inconsistent to enjoy for them? Would this be a fair statement?

Many people here have well over 400 hours (some over 1000)

So you think we would play this long if we didn't find it enjoyable?

EDIT: @ Murray

I started with Defensa y Justicia, and I did crap too. Left with some 10 games left. Went to Korea (Chunnam Dragons) and I did crap there too. Same, I left with like 10 games left. I think then I went to MVV, ehich was my breakthrough.

Maybe inconsistency makes it a little more enjoyable for you? I'm just talking about a statement a few friends who have been playing FM for a number of years saying what they felt about it.

I think I was asking a fair enough question?

I resigned from the team I was at previously(forgotten the name) and had to wait a while but got offered a job at Eastbourne Boro in the Blue Square Bet South, should be fun for a season or two maybe.

depends on what they mean by inconsistent, for me the 2 pains over the lastest couple of versions are the score turnarounds (ie one game you win 4-0 against one of the top teams, next you get battered 5-2 by the bottom team), and the quick drop in morale, can go from superb to very poor after 1 bad result :(.

this version tactic wise it needs more work, as you have to adjust more than previously to keep performances going, but again you can still get kicked in the teeth with a dire result :(.

SSD helps with basic loading but to speed up the processing you need raw power from the processor and a good 4gig of ram free for it.

An SSD didn't make much different in loads for me. I use compressed saves, so perhaps the CPU is the limiting factor there. The actual save game files are only around 200-400mb, depending on leagues and game time, and any half-decent hard drive will gulp that up in no time at all.

Its a fair question. My answer is simple, results are inconsistent, but even in real life, its the same.

People expect to win each game just because they have an amazing team. Its not always like that in real life. We see good teams losing against much smaller teams, even if the week before they beat a team that was in 1st/2nd/3rd.

Taking it as a lesson, and try to improve your team/morale/training/tactics in the next season.

Its not inconsistent enough that a top team will finish bottom half though.

Even though the inconsistency can be quite annoying, it is also good because it forces you to do something and sort it out. Personally I would give up very quickly if I could just blaze through everything with my team not having to make any changes, that would be boring! :D

wow I started the game up last night with barnet sitting just below mid table which is my aim for the season.

I had the intention of loading/reloading to get some wins and try and get a crowd in because my biggest problem is attendance is really bad like 2k people.........

I just did I think it was 14 games without a single lose no reloading and now im sitting In like 4th position after 29 games :D

mu attendance has jumped up about 500 since moving up the table as well :D

I'm starting to wonder if it's actually possible to get from the bottom leagues to the top though because of income being crap

Aww! Though I couldn't blame you for wanting a football break after the last season.

Did you keep the save at very least??

Firstly, that's cheating! :p

Also its pretty easy to go all the way up (eventually, takes a lot of planning), you have to focus on using the budget you have effectively instead of trying to get more (especially at lower than the champ attendances only effect the amount of turn over you can use for next year in the budget, you're not going to get many big windfalls in the league).

I got Bishops Stortford from the Blue Square North to the Premier League in back to back promotions (lots of lucky arrive in the play offs game though) so it is more than possible :)

Don't think so. I pretty much had tears in my eyes when I deleted it :p There's a high proportion that I may have to work from home in the future, but a combination of FM and the Imp of the Perverse... I'd get no work done :) Since I've deleted though I keep on finding myself int he pub during the day! Go figure...
