***** Official Football Manager 13 Thread *****

That's a pretty significant change from every other FM. I'm 7 matches in and Daniel Alves is already concerned about my team talks. It definitely feels like a bug.
They did give the manager origins/reputation a good looking-at with the last big 2012 patch, IIRC.

It's entirely possible that what you're experiencing is a bug - the phrase "SI beta" alone is enough to put it top of the list - but my hunch is that they've deliberately made it hard for anyone, even with international player experience, to leap straight into the hotseat of the bigger clubs. Their intent was made clear by the 2012 patch; maybe they've exaggerated it for 2013. "One does not simply walk into Barca", to paraphrase someone else. Tolkinho, I think.

Being an avowed LLM, I heartily endorse this. Earn your chops :p

What formation were you playing? 1-1-8? I think the worst result I've ever had is probably 3 or 4 down at half time, but 7 is horrendous!

I really don't know what happened, Chelsea scored 7 the game before against QPR. I played my normal 4231
Reina
Johnson Skrtel Coates Enrique
Sahin lucas
stirling cole downing
suarez

My two full backs were on automatic, my two CMs were set to BWM and DLP. You just have to chalk it off to a glitch, there is no way my team (which was top at the time) could go 7 down at half time. The game actually ended 1-7 after I completely dominated the second half.

Been having a little play of the Beta and to be honest I don't think I'm going to bother with it until the full game is out properly. The amount of bugs and just idiocy in the match engine is laughable.

I'm enjoying playing, there are a lot of quite big changes to systems and appearances :)

I'm not letting the problems get to me too much.

I can not wait until someone makes a dark skin for this, the default is ****! I don't understand why they chose not to make a dark skin this year. Other than that and the training system i like this game ;)

Yeah taken a team out of the BSN to the BSP :D

Really hard to find players at this level though, but I have Calvin Zola :D (rubbish in L2 but should tear up the BSP)

Yeah Vauxhall motors fc, team in the blue square north Ellesmere Port in cheshire :D

Been slowly climbing the leagues and had a couple of FA cup appearances in the later rounds.

LOL!

I think I'm gonna go for the Pentagon challenge in FM 13. I find it that it becomes easy to get a team from second division to tinning the CL (doable in 10 years) but I feel like Watford will be fun.

-They are sponsored by FM
-Pozzo family are the owners
-Cassetti

but I feel it will be easy :/

I was thinking to go with the other team sponsored by FM, but once again, when you buy good youths, it becomes easy.

Had to google the Pentagon challenge

Wouldn't have the patience to do it from sunday league experience!

Watford look fun just because in real life they are so oddly unpredictable, should be able to fix them. Very amused by the blue square premier league, I am trying to amass as many ex-saints as possible, have Claus Lundekvam as a scout, STERN JOHN and Sam McQueen (who is in your u18's team) at Bishop's Stortford which is a lot of fun.

I always start the game with a challenge. Last year it was the journeyman, which I nearly did (until I lost interest in the game). This year I thought about the pentagon challenge.

I'm sick of getting a second division team into the CL. its fun, until you buy the best brazillian, cheap regens.

Its down to pentagon challenge or going from lowest division to CL (San Marino Challenge maybe?)

I have to say even though this is the Beta I am not impressed at all, there are so many "new" things that just hinder the game in my opinion and the FMC thing is disgusting to the loyal fans.

CM01/02 for me I guess

Yeah there has to be a challenge or a theme to the game, it's no fun just being my team and getting annoyed now (we were more fun in L1 and the champ, now its just tedious).

I'm still going for the make a team build me a stadium before I am bored challenge! Got Burton to do one last season a few weeks ago and was selling out every game but I haven't had enough time from getting it and playing the new one :(

Lowest division you can stand to CL is always fun, that's the opening game this year as I don't have much interest in other games at the moment. Though I do plan to have a home grown team by the time I get to the CL, minimum of 70% trained in nation and 40% trained in club...

What are you typing about?

You are aware that Football Manager Classic is a seperate 'type' of game that was very popular on the handheld version and is aimed at casual players?

Football Manager, hasn't changed it's game play merchanics, if anything this FM is the most complicated and in depth, they've just added a new 'game mode' to cater for a wider audience.
