Phil had the same problem a few weeks ago where he couldn't go past a certain date in the game and it turns out a few of fm13's files had become corrupt and needed to be redownloaded by steam which fixed the problem. Not sure why it worked but it seemed to be the solution instead of the save being corrupt like in past versions.

"Validate the integrity of the files in Steam" should fix it (that's what it's called on steam anyway)

So who is everyone starting with in the new patch? I would be Fulham but I think I'm finding it a bit boring being them again :p

Any recommendations away from the Prem? Don't mind if it's a big team or just promoted, etc.

Started a game with Wigan in the CH - should be good fun in Europa League! About 5m starting budget with a few decent 23-4 year olds and ok facilities.

Cheers. Tried that just now and after installing the patch it worked!

Also whats the most someone has bought a player for? I spent 185m on a regen before.

Hurray! No problem, glad it worked.

Most I have ever spent is 92m on a regen (world class attacking midfielder in the last FM) how good was this 185m regen?!?!
 
Gets an absolute shed load of assists from RM, 20 dribbling, 18 crossing, 17 pace, 18 acc, loads of other high stats. Pretty insane tbh but it's probably because Barce had him so they weren't going to sell cheaply. I have all the money in the world to burn so thought why not, haha.
 
Just bought this guy from Barca for £45m. I hope he's worth it. Might try him as a ball winning midfielder/support. Looks like he might grab a few goals as well.

I think I'm a bit ageist when playing this. I rarely keep players past their 30th birthday for some strange reason. :p

He looks like a great potential player. 19 and look at those well rounded stats. Most I ever spent was £80 million I think on a Brazilian world class defender. He was pretty poor to be honest lol.. he was 30 before I could play him due to injury and then he went downhill.

What is this patch people keep talking about?
 
I've only gone and lost my game save from an 8 season reign. Guess I'll never get to know how good Alex (3 posts up) could end up being. :(

Tried backing up my game from steam but there's nothing been saved. Ah well. All other game saves from Steam, Origin and UPlay lost as well.

wtf? That's weird in the extreme. I try and manually manage my saves. I keep them uncompressed too as they are much quicker that way. So do you think you deleted it accidentally? Ive had corrupted saves but I've not physically lost one yet.

I've just got promoted AGAIN. From Blue Bet South into League 1 in 3 seasons. Now I'm in a lot of trouble, I have 0 transfer budget, a tiny stadium and most of my players are not up to the grade. So I'm having to rebuild from scratch.. somehow.. This is new to me.

I got a virus so clicked on 'backup' in Steam as I needed to reinstall Windows. It saved some folders but there's nothing in them.

I'll survive. :)

I was given over 9 million transfer budget (In league 1)
Which I've spent to prepare myself for championship football.

Oh my god!! £9 million in League1? How come? I am just into L1 now, and have been given 0 transfer budget and £24k a week for wages. WHat size stadium do you have?
